Anyone knows where I can get a light weight flywheel installed for the N16 FL nissan sunny (manual)?

What are the pros and cons of such a mod?

Any advice would be good.

Thanks.

Cost you couple of hundred bucks. Its located behind Mcwell Ventures. I think its 51 Paya Ubi.. Go look for my old friend Albert aka Ah Or. Say Colin recommend, you will get cheaper.

Any side effects of a lightened flywheel dat will be detrimental to the car in the long run?

If my car is still under warranty, will the mechanics be able to spot the lightened flywheel when I go for servicing?

Hey Fuzzy,

Your mechanic will not be able to spot the lighten flywheel unless you do clutch change.

I've lighten a few of my flywheel on a few of the cars I had previously, no problem.

Take note that the flywheel should not be over-lighten or you will loose your top end.

Better still, if you can afford go for after market ones.

Key here is Lighten & Balance!

After market ones like Excedy etc may cost you $500 & above if I can remember correct. But don't know if they are available for your car?

Suggest you do your flywheel when you change your clutch so no need to pay for labour twice. Lightening of existing flywheel should cost no more than $150-$200.

Stop chionging for a long time liao so cannot comment on workshop. Maybe the bros & sisters of the forum can help.

hv read articles on light-weight flywheel, only help in initial acceleration but doesn't increase horsies....... [shakehead]

Lup a TC even better ah, got caught [lipsrsealed] the most fined for exhaust mod. [blush] but lightweight flywheel is consider engine-mod, more serious.... [lipsrsealed] .

Yes.

Can your stock clutch hold is another question?

Usually, we change flywheel/lightened flywheel together with upgraded clutch. No use if your engine spin faster but clutch cannot hold, right?

What other mods are you planning to do? Think carefully cos if you're going for extensive job then I suggest you change to a more powerful car. Mods are not cheap & they also affect your car's durability.

Actually just weighing the options in modding.

Not really going for extensive surgery but actually contemplating doing dis or an exhaust mod.

However, read that doing an exhaust mod the authorities might be on your back after dat.

Anyway, one of the workshops quoted me 450 for extractor, 2'piping, free flow cat and muffler.

Is that roughly the cost of doing an exhaust mod?

Exhaust mod not recommended. Heard first time kena caught $500, 2nd time $1000 (maybe now higher).

Which workshop recommended 2" pipe for your car? I can guaranteed your car cannot move, don't talk about chiong. Your stock engine will not be able to build enough pressure to utilize the bigger dia pipe. End up losing instead of gaining.

You will be surprise that after doing a bit of mods here & there, you add all up & it is enough to down for a Rex. Know a guy who end up spending $20k to do up his Accent.

Go figure! [smash]
