Anewtech Neutral Newbie December 6, 2004 Share December 6, 2004 Dear all, I've been using the export set Kenwood's KDC-MPV7023 HU for some time, but in recent months it kept failing on me till i very 'pek chei' as it suka suka (on and off) will skip my mp3 tracks till it blank out and con't playing with skips. when playing music cd, it'll play well initally but later it'll play with a "tek-tek-fu-fu" sound in the background. initially using CD len cleaner will help, now it won't, even the CD skips during cleaning. it's just good in one moment and 'jia-luck' in another moment. can advise if should i dismantle it and bring to kenwood to service or upgrade to Alpine CDA 9833? btw, the Alpine CDA 9833 good? how to hear comments before my next move. ↡ Advertisement
Gadgeter 2nd Gear December 7, 2004 Share December 7, 2004 There is a couple of us here using Alpine. Frankly, I just love the alpine eversince I installed it a few months back... For local set, it should cost you around $700++. For export set, it should cost $500++... Am using an export set myself.

Anewtech Neutral Newbie December 8, 2004 Author Share December 8, 2004 i did check with my installer and i was quoted $710 for a local set, is the price good? so the export set would be cheaper, GADGETER, hope you can help me answer the following questions 1. which shop in SLS u get yours and how muchie, any trouble so far? 2. does the len sensitive and won't play some of self-burnt CD (i've such experience in my previous export set pioneer 5550, if you still remember my post long ago here!) 3. what u think of 9835, issit worth the $$ for that...basically it'll cost the same as a 9833 local set for an export 9835. a question too many?? hope to hear from you soon
Gadgeter 2nd Gear December 8, 2004 Share December 8, 2004 (edited) 1. which shop in SLS u get yours and how muchie, any trouble so far? GAD: Got mine from Edison for $560 at SLT not SLS. So far no problem. 2. does the len sensitive and won't play some of self-burnt CD (i've such experience in my previous export set pioneer 5550, if you still remember my post long ago here!) GAD: Dun have this problem with self burnt CD. 3. what u think of 9835, issit worth the $$ for that...basically it'll cost the same as a 9833 local set for an export 9835. GAD: The only different between 9833 and 9835 is the display. It depends on what you are going for. The functions and features of the 2 are the same. And, in my case, I rather save that additional $200 in my wallet. Edited December 8, 2004 by Gadgeter ↡ Advertisement
