Avenso Neutral Newbie April 5, 2005 Share April 5, 2005 (edited) Hi Adeline, Coolmax is actually a man-made fibre or combination of fibres. Its wicking quality made it a good material for use in clothing, especially sports attire such as running tee shirts, shorts, socks, underwear, etc. Having sports clothing of this material, I find it inferior to the similar Nike Dri-Fit range of sport clothes. Reebok also have its own of a different name. The clothing material is designed to wick perspiration from your body and speedily evaporate it to the air. The quick evaporation rate will lower the surrounding temperature and therefore cool your body down. May work very well in low humidity countries and less well in high humidity Singapore. But they do dry fast, especially the Dri-Fit. As a material for covering car leather, I don't see any worthwhile advantage. You don't get sweaty in an air-conditioned car. If the aircon fails, the coolmax can wick the perspiration from your back. However the perspiration cannot evaporate speedily when the coolmax is pressed against the leather seat.
