Xiaogary Neutral Newbie May 8, 2005 Share May 8, 2005 Beside the HU compartment, there is 2 black vertical plastic cover. Like the shape of a sword. Top is flat, bottom is sharp. Material is plastic with a lot of dented dots one. Take it out first by using a flat screw driver poking the sharp bottom and giao it out. Then u will see 4 screws holding the metallic HU compartment cage. Take out the 4 screw and withdraw out the whole metallic cage. Then remove the screws holding the HU on the cage at the side and u can unplug all the wires already. careful not to scratch the aircon panel when taking out the cage, must lift up a bit then take out, or else rest on the panel and drag out sure scratch. Less than 2 minutes job only. I take in and out many time already.
Coldfish Neutral Newbie May 9, 2005 Share May 9, 2005 Wait! Stop! It is important to know why you want to remove the HU. This is because of the connecting cables. In case you want to change HU, chances are the cabling arrangements may be different. Workshops usually use special connectors to connect the re-arranged cables to avoid leakage and eventual fire hazard. So this is not just 2 minute job liao (assuming that you are changing the HU and not take in take out only).

Can I just remove the stock HU and replace it directly with the new one? ↡ Advertisement
