Getting aftermarket rims risk warranty..or at least that's up to SA's discretion

[crazy][crazy] You must be kidding rite??? Did SA explain in what manner would changing to an aftermarket rim void the warranty?? [shocked]

Good idea Spango! [thumbsup]

I am currently staying at AMK and I just found out where is pxx xxxg. Can't missed it as it is near to the 'main' road.

If I upgrade to a much bigger rim and not able to fit one spare into the car booth, won't I run the risk of not having any spare if one of the type is flat? I heard can leave the spare at home to 'lighten' the car to save FC but not at the expense of not fitting one type in the compactment. So what happen if you got a flat type and you are without a spare?

I see.

Great move for you. One car exchange for two car..

Actually Aveo5 is fun to drive around just that it lack of pick up speed. Highway cruising is very smooth.

Can't help you on the CF printing... It will be really nice to have that on the dashboard.

Some bros who is driving the Kalos(Aveo) has got CF printing on their window control panel as default. Very nice... U can take a look when u join us for meet up...

Bro, think u are mistaken.

If you upgrade your rim, u still can retain your existing spare tyre in your car boot. When one of your main tyre is flat, u still can use the spare tyre and driving slowly to the nearest workshop to get your flatten tyre change or repair.

Yes, you can keep your tyre at home to cut down some weight and save that little bit on the FC.

But if one day u need it, u surely complain " Why I so stupid to keep the spare at home?@#$%"

Just like when your hp is low batt but u left your spare batt at home...how agonized.

No bro, not joking..the SE really told me..if I go and change my own rims, Warranty at risk. I'm not surprise as this is not the first time SE tell me this...when I change my parts in my Subaru TS (simple things like airfilter)..Motorimage also said void warranty. But I can understand..when you change things, you alter the behaviour/characteristic of the car and may lead to other unexpected failure, which is then not fair for the dealer to honour the warranty for your own wrong doings.

One thing I can think off for fitting aftermarket rims is that if suppose you didn;t get the right match interm of Offset, the tyres may rub the fenders or worst during fitting of rims, the installer accidentally scratch your rotors or damage your calipers (very rare lah ha)..then you think SA will let you claim warranty?

Thanks Xavier. Looking forward to collecting my car and join you guys for outing. Well, lacking pickup speed I can live with..Subaru TS is not known for fast pickup anyway [laugh]
