hey y'all

wanna check with you guys, is it possible to "lup" a TC into a CVT car, will the extra power that kicks in damage the CVT transmission?

And is there anyone you guys know who can custom make a TC kit? Thanks!

Most likely to damage it... unless very low boost which in the end nt worth the upgrade and risks... also nt jus the transmission, the list of items tat need chgin... sweatdrop.gif ... will make u hold bac...

btw , wats ur ride?

anyway yah kinda agree with u...alrite start thinking of other ways to power up.

tink for NA cars jus concertrate on lightening up the weight, a move tat cfms results... save petrol too. Starting frm the lightest rims u can find, removing the spare tyres to slimming down (hehe... abit corny during weekends) ... laugh.gif

yahyah, lightest replica rim i could find was 6.3kg - 16" wat do u think abt it? of cos cant compare to volk te37 man..there were some 15" lighter at 5+ kg, but i want lower profile so no choice gav to use 16"

205/55r15 would be ex rite?

Shld be gd enuff lah, original volks rims can kill wallet knife.gif. 16" is good a balance between handling and lightweight.

no man, not yet.

intending on doing semi-flow exhaust later. As for the intakes, the latio sport has a stock CAI. a black plastic triangular lookin thing mounted above the engine. I wrapped it with some heat resistant wrap. thinking of modding it to get even cooler air.

saaber once advised me to wait and change extractor. That should deliver some results as well.

If your looking for TC, I would take it that you wanna get the most out of your TC. The stock CAI is just how your intake assembly is set up. You might wanna look at open pod or a K&N replacement panel filters so that its less restrictive than stock.

Exhaust wise with low boost this would depend on your engine size. Usually a 3" would be sufficient.

With both modifications to intakes and exhaust, this will give you an easy in easy out concept as TC breathes and excrete more air than NA.

Only after than you may look at Turbocharging your ride. A Turboback would be great preferably stainless steel if your looking at long term usage. Make sure the down pipes you use for the Turboback isn't too restrictive or has a resonator in it. Preferably 1 hi flow cat and 1 resonator is sufficient. Having 2 cats and your better off running on stock as it is restrictive. Extractors can be last.

You should seek for a more balanced car rather than jump to step 2 without looking at step 1. At a later stage, ECU would be of great help to fully maximise your mods. [;)]

Dude .. I just started modding and had to find out these info myself as well. These advices are based on researches done on the internet, personal experience, advices from mechs, fellow drivers whose done such mods etc.

So me passing the info to you is like refreshing memory for myself. [laugh] Currently I'm still learning how to tune the ECU via research as well as mech's advice. [;)]

Turboback are the pipes from turbo onwards and hence called turboback.

For the exhaust, personally I feel that 2.5" will be more than sufficient. 3" will be a bit too big, and your idling sound will be very very loud. That will attract too much attention.

Idling volume depends on the muffler rather than size. Size as well as muffler determines the tone. Ever heard of an Integra Type R running 2.5" louder than my 3" muffler and we are talking about 1 hi flow cat and 1 resonator. Way above 100db. [sweatdrop]

2.5" is suitable for NA. TC requires more flow but ultimately it depends on engine size and boost levels. Obviously a TC 1.6 or 1.5L car running on 3" is gonna lose alot of back pressure and affect the low end. [nod]

Think you have no luck with CVT & Turbo... unless you are having the Audi multitronic steel belt CVT .....cool.gif

Woah you considering TCing your Latio? Is it "LTA friendly" in the first place? [sweatdrop]

I don't think LTA will approve this unless you first seek their approval. Consequently, annual vehicle inspection will fail. If kenna caught by TP and sent to lane 7 for inspection, the fine is at least $700 for illegal mod.

Why don't you get a turbo car in the first place?
