just got a few feedback from other forum about 9650.....the motorised face spoilt quite easily......even 8650 seem to have same problem as well.

I think i will get a local set...... at least after warranty whenever there is a problem, i dun have to spend 3X the price to repair....

i am using 8650. changed from Naka.

 

looks are only part of my concern. i wanted to try TA, but my old Naka gives unparalleled clarity.

need your help coz i noticed that whenever i switch my engine off. the HU will automatically flip open as if to insert CD and then after a while, it will flip back to close.

 

why does it do that?

or my set is faulty?

ps: where is a good place to buy steering remote? can it be easily installed and fit on the steering wheel?

well, cd changer needs to be compatible first. no adaptor. for portable DVD, of course. you need to power it up separately.

Don't know if it's true but I heard export sets are refurbish sets. Faulty sets that are covered under 1 to 1 exchange warranty. maybe that explains why repair fess are more expensive ? Poor QC ?

That's the default setting for you to remove the antitheft faceplate. It can be disable. You have gotten yourself a good HU, the least you could do, is to read the manual and use the HU to its full potential.

Can anyone advise wadz the difference b/w the digital grahic equalizer (as in 8650) and the parametric equaliser ((as in the newer HUs) .. the former is 13 bands while the latter only 3 bands ? More bands the better ?

I have a PPI Preamp in my ride. If I upgrade to 8650, is the preamp useless??
