  1. I am quite surprised that a lot of people think otherwise so I want to start a new thread with a clearer title. Please note the poll is for expressways during PEAK HOURS which I drive. I drive in singapore more specifically the CTE since I live in the north. To me, the expressway is always crowded and people drive in Lane 1 because it is just too crowded during peak hours. I am surprised that some people in this forum expect people to give way to them in lane 1 even when the expressway is crowded. I think this is really stupid to me but I may be the odd one out..... I think all the filtering to lane 2 to let a tailgated go past will make the traffic crawl even slower and totally unpractical as there will always be people who choose 3 and 4.
  2. One more cheesbun situation I faced this morning. Was cruising on lane1 on the AYE from east coast to NUS. As usual the road is fairly packed. So I was following behind cars on lane 1. At this particular section the traffic slowed down to 40km/hr and crawled along before the jam 'suddenly' cleared and all the cars in front of me gathers speed. Ok I was slow in accelerating, as I know that the cars infront will usually slow down again at some sections further up, I did not accelerate as fast to catch up thereby leaving a gap of about 10 car spaces in front of my SSS. This cheesebun motocycyle, I think Honda ST1300 was directly behind me and gave me a horn. I immediately speeded up, but the bike was faster and it overtook me on my left and cut into my lane soon after. I maintained my speed as I am not getting anywhere, as the cars infront are not going to move any faster. I observed that this motorcycle again lane-split between 1&2 and keeps overtaking the cars further up front. So I know technically I am road-hogging, but then it was only for say about 4seconds, which everntually I will speed up to catch up with the front traffic. I am assuming the the motorbike horned me to ask me to speed up. But then this cheezebun is not the type that faithfully follows behind cars, he lane split at every moment he got. So whats the point of horning me when he can overtake any cars easily.
