  1. Was at Waterloo yesterday lunch break to check out the parts shop for a hatch strut for my car. Quite interesting trip. Most of the shops are quite empty and deserted with only a ahndful fo them still open. About 8 shops specialises in automobile parts with Tye Soon taking a couple of units on the ground floor and 2nd floor. Yes, its the same Tye Soon that is publicly traded on the stock exchange. The rest of the shops dealing in automobile parts were seemingly quite busy with the staffs walking in and out carrying shocks lah, boxes lah etc... Notably through observation, Tanly does a lot of Fiat, Lancia and Alfa parts. Golden Spring does most Jap stuffs, Yew Eng does a bit of VW , Tye Soon specialises in the Merz.... Spoke to one of the store keeper and he said this is a dead part of town as most businesses here are waiting for the que from the government to leave. He said the govt is likely to take back to land(& building) for re-development withthe new SMU etc etc all built in the area.... maybe that explains why there are so many empty shops around. All in all, a wasted trip considering I did not meet my objective of finding a solution to the hatch strut that failed me after installing the spoiler. Looking back, if I never find a suitable strut, I would rather not get the spoiler at all ---- hence the power of HINDSIGHT!
