I don't mean to sound pompous but perhaps someone at LTA actually read my entry 3 weeks ago and decided to get their act together. They've finally announced a date for when the new OPC scheme will be implemented.

From 25th January 2010 onwards, OPC car owners will be able to fully utilise their cars on Saturdays. Which pretty much means your car is now available the entire weekend without having to wait till after 3pm on Saturdays before it moves. It's seriously great news considering the amount of appointments I've had to miss cause of the restricted hours.

Of course being under the new scheme comes at a price but I still think it's worth it. Personally my road tax will increase from $50/yr to $70/year. Considering all the Saturdays and eves of public holidays I'll be able to use the car, the cost will be minuscule. I just don't agree with the admin charge necessary to be converted to the new scheme though. What kinda admin charge do you need to put my car under the new scheme? It's just another lame attempt from LTA to suck money out of everyone's pockets. Dammit!

Besides that, I guess for once the LTA actually heeded the requests from the public and did something right. We should all be so thankful...

  • A sole-ful tribute

Car enthusiasts are an emotional bunch. So, I naturally develop feelings for things on wheels, be it four wheels or two. However, I was surprised to discover that I had become attached to my old pair of sneakers, whose soles are so worn that it hurts to wear them.  That is the unequivocal signal to retire them. But I must say "Thank you" before bidding them goodbye. The laceless design is convenient, saving time when you need to rush off in the morning Through thick and

Forget resolutions, just focus on starting fresh

The start of a new year is always a happy time for me. Apart from gatherings and mini reunions, January is when I reflect on everything I've accomplished last year, while mentally noting the things I still need to work on. Resolutions, though, are not for me. While it's not wrong to list some and strive towards them like goals, I think making resolutions is not the optimal way for me to reach new milestones, because more often than not, they're declared 'in the moment'. Or worse, after you'

Attendees to this latest Mycarforum hangout event with Omoda got up close to the E5 and Jaecoo J7 and got a few tips on driving an electric car in Malaysia. It may have been close to a month since we visited the Skoda Kodiaq, but our Mycarforum members clearly could not get enough of the opportunity to explore new cars. At least, that's what the turnout at the latest Mycarforum hangout suggested! This new hangout session saw more than 30 of our members heading down to the new Omoda sho
