I was going to Bedok Central for lunch on a weekday. I parked my car at the open carpark next to Block 416 and made my walk to the traffic lights at Bedok North Street 1, opposite Bedok Community Library.

 

After waiting for about 30 seconds, the green man appeared and I crossed the road. Upon reaching the other end of the road, the side of my eye caught a speeding bicycle approaching in my direction when other vehicles have stopped. Naturally, I slowed down my pace to avoid getting hurt. After the incident, I asked myself this question

Cyclists are supposed to abide by all the traffic rules, but who cares as there is NO enforcement!:(

I believe for every safer cyclist, there will be another not so safe cyclist. I am about to re-consider nagging cyclists to read the Highway Code before they go on to the roads.

There are more and more cyclist on the road these days... Either they are riding on the center of one of the lane , or just cutting out to the next lane without any hand signal as though they owned the whole road and assume that all motor vehicles is a MUST to look out for them and avoid them ...

Or just my luck to observed these type of cyclist behavior all the time....

  • Is 'tiny living' really irrelevant in Singapore?

    I discussed the possibility of living in tiny houses in Singapore in an earlier blog post.
