Like most other MCF Hangouts, members were eager and turned up early for the event. It was too bad that Turboflat4 couldn't stay for dinner though. Though there weren't any worms for the early birds, we had a group shot.

It wasn't long before the sun set, which meant it was dinner time! There was a wide spread of food. The seafood and chicken were especially good (after being BBQed, of course).

There was a choice of grill or steamboat - the latter's not so flavourful, but definitely works for those who want a healthier choice.

Then again, most people love unhealthy food - including us!

Good food, great company. Most of our conversations, naturally, revolved around cars. Or more specifically, about Hondas - since three out of five members' rides are propelled by VTECs.

Last but not least, a parting group shot. Of course, we had to (unintentionally) block off the non-Hondas. Till the next MCF Hangout!

Thanks so much for the great write-up and photos! It was fun for me chatting with all of you, even if I couldn't stay for dinner. Thanks again for organising the event and for the nice mugs.

But may I respectfully ask that the licence plates of our cars be blurred out, please? I'm not sure if others feel similarly, but it's better to keep our privacy intact. Hope you don't mind, and it's not too much trouble. :)

  • Space: Large and Empty

Over the weekend I fell into a bit of a science-fiction/science rabbithole. You know, one of those when you click on ONE Youtube video and suddenly the whole Sunday afternoon is gone and your algorithm is all messed up.  Anyway, obviously there's tons of fascinating stuff about space and science and all that. Too much, really.  But one fun fact has stuck in my brain: All the other planets in the Solar System could fit between Earth and our Moon.  It seems crazy to think, consideri

    Singapore’s ultimate NDP song?

As my JC classmates suddenly made plans this year to have an NDP watch-party (this is likely our first in the 12 years we’ve known each other), I found myself falling into a state of nostalgia again: This time, thinking about how NDP songs have evolved over the years. It’s not a stretch to say that each NDP song - from the inception of the idea of an NDP song back in 1984 - has woven itself somewhat into the fabric of our collective memories. Whether you were singing along loudly in primary

Doing the thing, minus the thing

You might have seen this viral clip on social media:  m2-res_480p.mp4 This might be one of the greatest, funniest things I've seen in quite a long while.  Put simply, its horse-racing, minus the horses.  And look, of course it's all a bit of fun (clearly a stunt to gain social media attention, but it also raised money for charity). I think it might be best described as 'doing the thing, minus the thing'. And we've seen plenty of gimmicky conceits (I for one am quite a sucker
