This comes as a pleasant surprise as only 30,000 units of the ID.3 1ST launch edition version are available. Would-be owners are required to put in a €1,000 (S$1,529) refundable deposit for the car that has a driving range of up to 420km and is priced from under €40,000 ( S$61,120). Those who managed to get the launch edition of the ID.3 will also get free recharging for the first year up to a maximum of 2,000 kWh.

The company is aware of the interruptions in the registration process and is working hard to solve the issue.

Production of the electric vehicle will start at the end of 2019 and the first vehicles will reach customers in mid-2020.
