Hi there,

I don't have a recommendation for a batt booster, but I do recommend the A-Pholon (alpha pholon) Carbon CB103 batt additive. Increases the capacity and also the life of batts, and rejuvenates old ones by converting the sulphation buildup (major cause of batt failure & hi batt water consumption after years of usage) back into usable chemicals.

p.s. It's a.k.a. Alpha Beta or Mr Battery at some places.

DC portable power booster for 12 volt car battery is getting very popular with

repair shops and service stations. Most of them are powered by 100% sealed lead battery and is very heavy - about 10kg.

The latest battery booster is very light and is powered by AGM battery. The street price vary from s$280 - s$360.00 per unit.

Boost starting with jumper cables is not adviceable for cars with on-board computers.

The stray electric spikes may end up toasting your on-board computers and cause serious damage to other sensitive actuators. Portable DC boosters are designed with safety features built-in to prevent damage to the on-board computers and other sensitive actuators.

Good night

Will it increase the ampere? If you mean the batt's capacity, I think it does. If you're talking about peak current... that I'm not so sure lah, sorry!

Maybe u wanna check out this page: geocities.com/apholoncb103/

Anyway, when I asked my friend to get a bottle for me when he went shopping at the hypermarket (I seldom go there, so had to "lompang" him to buy 4 me), and encouraged him to get a bottle himself, he did, and was happy with the noticeably better power, especially when the aircon kicked in. He's driving an Iswara 1.3.

I'm now onto my 2nd bottle for this particular batt which is abt 2 yrs and 4 mths old. 1st doped it when it was around 8 mths. Now onto 2nd bottle coz it's using up batt water faster (due to sulphation), and I wanna see if I can extend its life beyond the normal max of 2.5 yrs. [thumbsup]

Not sure whether this product is sold in S'pore, but here in JB it's sold at hypermarkets like Giant (Plentong & Tampoi, don't think it's available at Pelangi Leisure Mall) and Xtra for less than RM24.

My 1st bottle was put in when it's around 8 mths old. When close to the 2nd yr the batt started comsuming more batt water, so recently (abt 2 yrs and 4 mths old) I added in the 2nd bottle. Still monitoring whether it helps to reduce batt water consumption... you don't need to top it up frequently like some other batt additives I've seen.
