Does anyone know when the new facelifted version is coming in? is it purely cosmetic? I read abt Ford unveiling the new 5 speed Durashift tiptronic but I not sure whether Singapore cars will get it?

Durashift only developed on V6 2.5L Mondy or Duratorq (desiel turbo) or ST220. I don't think S'pore will bring in.

The Facelifted version should be the body kit, under bonnet still 2.0l 16v. Unless u transplant the Focus RS turbo to Mondy, both are Duratec-He engine.

The next-generation Mondeo will only appear in 2006.

.. interesting

so we cant expect a 5 speed auto or a tiptronic function

on the car anytime soon? thks.

Q:If the Focus ST 170 is the same basic block ,

can the Duratec HE engine be reworked to pump out

30 horses more by changinh pistons , crank, cam and ECU?

more imptly I think is , can the auto trans handle the increase in torque?.

Not much of a facelift. Last model update was only Oct 2001.

However the bodykit is here... cool kit, similar to ST 220 [inlove]

The next replacement ( official 2006 + ) Focus replacement is in 2004

Cheers [thumbsup]

Stock of Mondy is 145bhps, A Remus twin exhaust might give u another 12bhps (Dyno tested). Cam shaft (from Pipercam) pumps out another 12bhps (fast road cam but alot of works). Then 145+12+12=169 [sly]

Below 200bhps, the auto trans can still handle the power...I think [sweatdrop]
