Let me hazard some guess ah...

The W3 is a 300W Sub?

1) Its a cheater amp? When bridged probably it gives you maybe 1Kw at 1 Ohm?

2) Feeding the amp via a hi voltage HU(6V or 8v)?

Though i agree specs isnt everything. But it tells you something about the built and the quality you will be expecting.

i c . OK, just check w/er. Think he should know the cheaper way to get the pure copper 4 u.Think everything must be copper base on the character of this spkr.So does er match it the same way ? Hope his standard didn't drop after 4 yrs in business.

Haha... this is called " Reserve Power " . No many amp can do that.

Even Mclntosh. Unless they using the home audio technologies in the car.

Like fully tube amp can power up the 100wrms spkrs.

Keen to know which amp

bosebani, beware what you say - me is PTE LTD onli not MNC. dont anyhow quote merifle.gifrifle.gif

uncle lee, me no enough $$ to go higher liao. the bro going for kimber is not me, he is bro RX Louis. he may be giving up his P90 to go for something else to match his Focal BE N7 as well as the amp which "clipped" the JL W3. now waiting for him to install his setup .....

agree with you that pure copper cable is the excellant choice for car audio (personnal preference) but again it will come with a cost (like kimber and VDH).

Cheers

btw, think we discuss abit out of topic. perhaps we can start a threads to discuss about the various components for good car audio system (not restricted to just amps, head unit, speaker sub but more on power sources, speaker cable, RCAs cable, positions).

Hahaha.... from "0" to something. Think you master behind should be got some standard.

yes ,yes. just let me know the thread . i still a bit confuse here. Used to sgsoundsystem.

i know which amp you're talking abt. This is for sure. 80yrs in high end field.Somemore home audio. At least they knw wat is the meaning of " High End ".

Hi mate. It is not call reserve power matey. It is call High Current mode.

There are tradeoffs. And i dont think any home hifi uses the same topology. Correct me if im wrong.

When we talk high current we dont relate it to SQ. And AFAIK, in home hifi no1 plays with loudness(SPL) over SQ. And I am quite certain companies like McIntosh, Krell, Mark Levinson, Cary Audio do not uses the same topology in their home heavy weight amps. But what do i know really.

True Class A amps can push speakers is because of their high sensitivity.

We dont usually see tube users driving 88db sensitive speakers do we?

We usually see them pushing highly efficient speakers or electrostatic or horn.

hi [wave] uncle Lee,

actually, can tell us more abt the reserved power theory?

cos for HC mode(the old sch amps), though rated very low, they can drop impedenace like nothin all the way down to 1 ohm and and cope with the high current.. thus pushin out the huge amt of power.. cos i have 2 similiar amps.. rated at 2x50 watts at 8 ohm.thus called" cheaters".. cant find amps like this these days.

the old sch orion is also 25w X2 @16 ohms.. pple used those to go fight in SPL last time..

is reserve power similiar?

haha... it is for sure called " reserve power" . i knw the high current amp.

But when come to bridging. They will tell is 500watt or 1000watt. Must at they mentioned in the instruction. Maybe + - different on power.

What Bosebani and Autwin said is different stage. 50rms/channel. Brigde =200wrms x 1 4ohm. Even the gain mode is half. But it still power up the 600wrms subwoofer with very well control.Normally this is the real and high end power amp can make it. No many in the market so far.

full tube amp can drive the driver for sure. Is depend which amp u choose.

Hahaha... sure autwin told u my age.If not, how come everyone knw i old.

The old sch orion is still called " HCCA " .So called " High current ".

they still indicated the powerin 4 ohm, 2 ohm and 1 ohm. But the different may + - there.

Reserve Power is related to the power supply stage( control ) of the amp to push out the unlimited power(rms) that they indicated. Normally the gain we called it " label " only.

WOW, so pro..!!! VDH also the best choice. If i got nothing .i may go for VDH.

Siltech is good. Got gold and silver contain.

hmm... just an idea to u. If u want to make you sub perform more efficient. Use 2 ch to pwer the sub dont use monoblock or Class D. The sound of sub will be more beautiful and accurate. But SPL ,u need class D for sure.

u have to change ur taste to SQ then u will knw more abt it. But if i young. i rather dont waste . Just go ahead to blow ur hair with the sub.
