If i not wrong, Performa is a local up and coming brand..

see where the lightning audio amp is made in.. if PRC made, forget it..

but if US made, go for it.. (assuming price for both the same la)

Don't discount something just because it's made in China.

Most of the stuff in the world is made in China nowadays - true there are a lot of things which quality leaves more to be desired - however there are lots of items/brands which are made in China to essentially bring the manufacturing costs down.

Look at the particular item, listen to it, and if u still like it (at the particular price-point) then go for it - don't just put it aside because it is made in China [shakehead]

FYI - the sub-amp I am getting is Made in China [nod]

I understand that the Performa amp is less than $1K, and that the Lightning Audio is >$1K plus.

Apparently the Performa Amp sounds good for its price point - have not heard it myself - the build quality is good, in my opinion - I have seen and "molested" it before [sly]

So I would go for the Performa - for myself [nod]

If the shop can guarantte that after sound proofing, all the vibrating noise can be solve, why not do it?

*normal market rate for SP front 2 door using Dynamat Extreme is $250+ (2 layers)
