saw this at the home-fix shop at IKEA building just now ... $69 ...wanted to know if anyone had used this b4 ... wonder whether the applicators are washable or spare easily available?? ... at most I'm just going to polish my car once a month with weekly washing so don't think will buy those $300++ polishers I saw ....

Used it before, helps to cut down polishing time greatly, as compared to polishing by hand. The applicators are washable and reuseable. Spares/replacements are easily available at Homefix, come in a packs of 3 (1 x wool bonnet, 2 x foam applicators) for $12.

Only shortcomings IMO are the non-variable speed and you cannot use those velcro type polishing pads. Otherwise its an OK machine for general use.

I wonder whether can mod the B&D to accept the velco type pad .. I mean use existing B&D pad and add/sew your own velcro then stick those other type pads on it.... [rolleyes]

Ya i saw it at carrefour, tot of buying it leh, well for the variable spped, how does it help in polishing mind to share coz i am a noob

Me also a noob... [:p]

According to the pros, you need to use different types of pads running at specific speeds (OPM) for the various steps in detilaing your car (cutting/polishing/finishing/etc etc). Read Gen2's posts or Garlic's posts, they are the masters IMO.. [thumbsup]

I think the B&D KP600 will not be their machine of choice...

To remove defects, u need to cut the clearcoat, therefore u need cutting pad which has cutting power....to remove defects, u go at higher speed, to wax n buff, u go slow....there r lots of pads for diff usage....for example cutting pad, light cutting pad, polishing pad & finishing pad...

u can look at some of the pads in here to have a better idea..

seem like at least to me the only setback of this set is the wooly pad (replacement kit) that needs to be tied, cannot seem to get it tied sufficiently tight for use, otherwise this product is great.

you bought one?? I can't seem to find it anymore ... the home-fix shop at imm sold out dunno when new stock coming in... i supposed this tool could come in handy ... I mean compare it to just using your hand to apply and buff & using the tool I think will get more even result with the tool (any tool actually) ... using hand u get tired and rate of application and buffing sure changes ... if use tool its almost constant rate ... IMHO
