I wonder how the car would look like with dark badges and grille. [sly][cool]

Still, it's Uniquely LS.

======================================================

The car is running on a Supersprint exhaust currently, upgrading the muffler will gain a few horses, but more noticable gains on a TC-ed vehicle, I believe Jhoo is letting go of his at a bargain...

======================================================

Wooot !!! It looks niiicee...

How's the noise level compared to stock exhuast ? Is it much more noisy ? Don't want the neighbours to think I'm too much of a beng...

Will this suck up more petrol as well ? This one is serious concern... 95 RON now $1.70 liao..... and looks to climb higher....

Will drop Jhoo a PM...

Thanks

Heh, Heh,

Will KIV your offer. Not to worry, SS will at least let your neighbour know that you're an Upmarket beng. laugh.gif

The muffler seriously wont help much on your FC. The most straightforward way to reduce FC is (very very) light rims & tyres will lower rolling resistance. However, by doing this there is a compromise on handling and decelerating. Safety to me is about the driver not the car.

I've accepted that my car FC will be around 8.5 - 9.5 KM/L on my driving style already...

(hmm.. seems same as Tucson...)

Already as light footed as I can go.

Ofcourse would love to add goodies to enhance look of the car... But now very mindful of mods that might make the FC worse... stuff like 17" rims upgrade.

Most threads talk about mods increasing torque, or power... but somehow neglect to mention effect on FC...

CAI - Improve airflow... more power... but FC how ?

Bigger Rims - Looks good.... Kills FC

Chipping - More low end torque... Kills FC

Body Kits - Look cool... Adds Weight.. Kill FC

Exhaust Change - Sounds cooler. More HP ? FC ??

Strut Bars - More Stability. Less Grip. FC ??

Lowering Shocks - Better Handling. FC ??

Just sharing my opinions,

CAI - Improve airflow... more power... but FC how ? I think not

CAi is to improve air flow, as explained cold air (higher O2) will let your car breath better, thus it should be a enhancement to the performance.

Bigger Rims - Looks good.... Kills FC ? Subjective to weight not size, rolling resistance of tyre width and thread pattern

Its the total unsprung weight thats affecting your FC. Hence if the overall weight of the new 17" is < existing 15", FC should improve. However, as bigger rims tends to have wider tyres, ths effect is somehow negated.

Chipping - More low end torque... Kills FC ? I think not

Chipping is to optimise the ECU settings instead factory settings. It can be tuned lean or rich, which ever compliments all your other mods (intake, exhaust...). It is more to the tuner skills and the owner's requirements.

Body Kits - Look cool... Adds Weight.. Kill FC ? I think not

Good BK comes with very light materials

Exhaust Change - Sounds cooler. More HP ? FC ?? I think not

Changing muffler is as far as NA cars can go, I would only go for muffler change only when I'm sure that the car can breath better.

Strut Bars - More Stability. Less Grip. FC ?? N.A.

To improve the rigidness of the car during high speed corners. No chance for daily driving.

Lowering Shocks - Better Handling. FC ?? N.A

Most encounter higher FC after modding, due to change of driving pattern. Cars is more responsive and this will definitely leads to speeding. Afterall, we mod the car to drive faster, dont we? rolleyes.gif for the least they did somehow make my car LooK faster..laugh.gif
