Zambik 2nd Gear May 29, 2006 Share May 29, 2006 Hey I'm new here... Actually I'm using the DEH-7750. Thinking of upgrading already because the HU doesn't give me alot of options. Looking to upgrade to Pioneer P80 and later sell off the 7750. The P80 looks great and also allows me to build up my ICE system. I'm a SQ person, so I think I'm gonna spend a bomb on my system. Zambik 2nd Gear May 29, 2006 Share May 29, 2006 Yup definitely selling off the 7750 after I get the P80. I like the 7750's colour, haha matches my car colour. Too bad it doesn't give me enough playing options. Need something better to support my expensive ears

Hyun Neutral Newbie May 30, 2006 Share May 30, 2006 u look like targetting a low budget. i did some research about low budget before and my belief is that for a $1K budget, an amp should be skipped. reason - it eats into ur budget by at least $250 or so unless u get a dirt cheap and yet good one. and ur HU should have a BIT of amp power already so might as well use it since u're paying for it. budget system shouldn't expect to blast too much so a small amount of HU amp juice is sufficient. speakers are compulsory and for a $1K budget ur speaker budget should be from $250 to $500. most of the $400-500 speakers require proper system so maybe sticking to $250-300 might be more sensible money-wise. HU doesn't make a difference? i believe even for $1K system, u can still benefit from HU. if that $$ is spent on amp, u get more blasting, but the nature of sound will be quite stuck. HU on the other hand has important features - pioneer models can have 13 band EQ for budget tuning, and many brands have time alignment. comparing a straight sound from just amp-speaker to a digitally tuned sound of HU-speaker (no amp) i believe the perceivable value would come from HU-speaker. u will hear better sound "quality". but then if u prefer budget blasting, foregoing quality, amp-speaker is better for blasting. if u really get cheap deals on everything, u can get HU-amp-speaker for $1k but that's tough work hunting for deals.
