Air Con Pipes - To wrap or not to wrap?

Hi Guys,

Need some advice here again. The aluminium air con pipes in the engine bay of my Laser are mostly exposed, with only some parts wrapped in insulation material.

The air-con guy advised me to leave it exposed as the condensation may corrode the pipes in the long run. I can't help but wonder if my air-con would be colder or more efficient if they'd been wrapped? unsure.gif This would make a lot of difference say on a hot day and the car has been parked under hot sun for a while?

Thanks!!

The Air-con pipe is mostly Aluminium and will not corride. I think he wants to sell you some material.

The air-con insulation tube cost about $2 per 2 metre from Res-Air. Anyway, I wrapped mine... only effect is air-con much colder.

Come for meetup and I can show you mine.

Well, I wouldn't say it is much cooler on mine ... but psychologically it feels good :-P

BTW, I start seeing bubble in the air con pipe window... time for gas topup ?
