point taken bro.. [thumbsup]

the BMC box provides their own CAI pipe.

dunno the make/materuial but seems quite good.

they have to cut away bits here and there

so that it can be placed just at the bumper

with its opening facing the front of the car.

i think so that air is ram thru it as the car

moves along [idea]

anwyay this few days when i wanted to try the

effect of high end... i always run into traffic..

so choke or not i still dunno

[:p]

cheers

thanks bro..

yes i do agreed that something seemingly as

simple as pipes to draw out hot air from the

engine can actually be a complex science.

the sound do sound much better, more bassier.

this a good point [:p]

BUT

the bad for me is indeed the low end torque is

only achieved at a higher RPM.

thus like u say sound fierce but not really moving!

[laugh]

interestingly is that my FC do seems better with

all these. hence my fren point out to me that theory

of str thru let the engine breathe much better then

give better FC..

well, it's all to complex for my noob experience.

and really appreciate we are having this discussion here

and may will go and read on it.

cheers

was thinking so too!

[laugh][laugh]

the str thru give higher RPM

but lesser torque and in turn lesser speed.

so all muffler shld be str thru if we want to

have better FC rite?

but if u wana so called move slower, then why not just press the accelerator less? Or if stick to stock config like stock air filter n exhaust, u surely will move slow also..

Oh ya, lastly is u wana mod for FC is to save $$ rite? but don't forget that if u do straight thru, it's a super big magnet for TP and ROV lor, so don't be penny wise n pound foolish to save a few bucks per tank but kana fine $500 for exhaust mod n still need to spend money swap back to stock exhaust n go inspection again and then end up at square one again.... something to think about ya! :D

hi

seen both filter for SCC and BMC

and after looking at both i think,

from my untrained eyes [:p] , that the

BMC's of better built.

the place where i installed BMC also

keep SCC for customers or potential customers

to compare themselves.

also i felt that the one of SCC has a smaller

surface area cos of the chrome flat top at the

tip of the filter... which to me is really weird.

[rolleyes]

well the price differentiation is also quite substantial

for the two products. was thinking to just try the SCC

for fun, but having looked at both products, i opted

BMC along with my fren.

oh, also we are 'lucky' to have the Silver CF cone

which is a limited edition...

well, who can see it anyway rite?

[laugh]

cheers

Ya I'd expect the BMC one to be better build cos it costs so much more. The chrome flat tip of the SCC is probably to look nice I guess, the more impt part is the wire mesh that is in front which probably lets in most of the air and whether BMC's one got the wire mesh or not.

Actually i think if Apexi came out with the a closed pod, it wld be the best man. The dual funnel open pod is really good and if they enclosed it in a case and u can do a proper CAI with it, wah best liao. In fact a guy actually DIY it with a Toyogo plastic box, looks funny but the principle is sound. Only thing is the dual funnel is a bit fat, so in a cramped engine bay, not much space to move around. The SCC is more slim which is more versatile.

agreed agreed

basically, i'm much much more curious than anything

else when i decided to change the muffler.

cos i had done much things on cars i drove before

but exhaust is one thing i have not 'tasted'

[:p]

yes, am worried on the fine and watever rubbish there're

for illegal mod.

and for exhaust is $750, i gathered! [sweatdrop]

i think Apexi will sooner rather than later come up

with a closed pod with CAI

as i reckon this might be the tread.

open pod is too loud for some, and low end is loss too

CAI only might not give the desired effect

thus closed pod with CAI is almost like the best of both

worlds. i think

i dunno much abt other brands of closed pod

beside the one i seen of BMC, SCC, Raid (very interested

to have a look but dunno why the boss will be back)

so in the end, with all considered i decided to take BMC

lor [;)]

anyway BMC have another model called DIA.

something just like the CDA but with no CF.

wah market rate on exhaust fines raise till $750 liao ah? sux man, like that then might as well get those legal exhaust better cos legal exhaust ranges from like $800 to maybe $1k+, so if the exhaust fine was $500, still can hiong those illegal onesfor 1 time...but now, not worth liao.

I also wan the best of both worlds tats why i used SCC hybrid version with CAI. Keep most of low end, improve mid end. That's good enuf for me! [scholar]

yupyup

now they really make it not worth to try our luck

on illegal mods..

i really wanted to have the hybrid setup with those

SCC guys... till they see and said that mine no space

to install it that way

so plan have to be changed lor

do urself. buy pipe, cut and fit into the airbox hole.

if u want those replace the airbox type, u need to go to those exos shop to ask them help u built alu pipe, then u buy the rubber fittings and adaptar, and u buy those big Cone or closed pod intake and u do the heat shield for them.
