Quekahwhye Clutched July 29, 2006 Share July 29, 2006 Good day, This afternoon went for 5k servicing. They top up the Engine coolant reservoir and Windshield washer fluid reservoir using the same liquid (Water???) from a same container. Did not question them because still got 4 more free service. If complains, they may hurt my car during the next 4 servicing. ↡ Advertisement

Pisces69 6th Gear July 29, 2006 Share July 29, 2006 Yup. Better to have a 50/50 mix of coolant & water but u got to know what is in your radiator in the 1st place. Cud b the mech too lazy or not sure so he play safe & just add water. Nowadays got so many types of coolant which cannot b mixed. There was a through discussion in here. Lots of valuable input by Guru Genie & other forumers. Do a search & u sud find it.
Elfenstar 3rd Gear July 29, 2006 Share July 29, 2006 Hmmz... the coolant should not be doing that... esp since its only 5000kms... anyway water in sg is fine as its not hardwater.
Adawang 1st Gear July 29, 2006 Share July 29, 2006 not necessary , if coolant gets too diluted, time to drain and change the coolant. for me, I do once a year
