Roboto Neutral Newbie April 1, 2007 Share April 1, 2007 Not necessary to have a palm device. You can use a windows laptop with bluetooth to do the tuning. Already have support for Vista too. ↡ Advertisement

Mel4fun Neutral Newbie April 2, 2007 Share April 2, 2007 (edited) If you are looking for TA, only the 3sixty.2 model comes with that feature. In fact, I was looking @ 3sixty.2 - hopefully there will be some great deal on ebay or internet (once in a while) The other part of the my concern is the tunner. I had asked around and not many tunner actually had handson experience on this product. A lot of them would recommend me to install an alternate HU or use alpine701 instead. I do understand where they are coming from and the good intend, but being a sucker for "OEM look", thus exploring the 3.sixty solution. Newkid 2nd Gear April 2, 2007 Share April 2, 2007 yup, i used a windows xp laptop to set up. my winmobile 5 ppc cld not connect. dunno why. the product is not bad, just that it is not up to my expectation. using signals from the speaker wires is not the best way to tune sound system, but at least i get to keep my FF HU and steering control, at a acceptable cost. Hyun Neutral Newbie April 2, 2007 Share April 2, 2007 > but being a sucker for "OEM look" why cannot use alpine H701 for OEM look? also same right? and someone say 360.2 is same price as H701? tuning principle should be the same leh. u see all the tuning toys, alpine 701, 990, P9, built-in processors of alpine HU, clarion D2, pioneer regular HUs, there is no "special toy" that they have. they all follow the standard procedures of controling speaker volume, crossover, timing, equalisation. only more "basic" HU has toys that may go something like "super surround mode". so the 360 should be similar, once u are able to enable the PDA software etc, no? experience only comes with knowing the "known faults" of this equipment and how to overcome them, as well as "tricks of installation" if it's not a straightforward installation etc... Kwongwing Neutral Newbie April 2, 2007 Share April 2, 2007 using the 3sixty now.yes, the hissing sound is high. the perf is not as good as i expected it. my former ride was using a 3 pre-out HU and the rest of the amps and speakers are the same. my verdict is the 3sixty is average. better to get a HU with 3 pre outs and tune from there. can listen to my setup, its OEM HU, 3 way active front and 1 sub woffer. no rear speakers. hope this helps the bros out there. Come with a good torchlight, your manuals & if your amps are easily accessible, we shall help you re-tune during the MCF meetup. Depending on where the noise is originating from - I believe that the problem should be solvable or at least managed to a certain degree, but you may have to change some components like cables & such if what you have installed is not up to scratch
Mel4fun Neutral Newbie April 2, 2007 Share April 2, 2007 Problem is I'm not familar with the tunning and thus my dependency on a good tunner, so that I may relate to the tunner my music preference and hope that he could configure the optimal setting. Bobneo Neutral Newbie April 12, 2007 Share April 12, 2007 Dear all, Would appreciate more Testimonial on this product, I really thinking of getting this for my stock HU?
Newkid 2nd Gear April 12, 2007 Share April 12, 2007 i can't really comment on the sound quality bcos there are too many components that needs to work together to produce a good sound. what i like is the ability to flatten the orig signal from HU and allow re-tuning by equaliser and also me to use FF HU. what i dun like is the software that is used to tune the 3sixty. laggy and hangs very often, for windows pc user like me. cannot comment for palm OS. Newkid 2nd Gear April 20, 2007 Share April 20, 2007 from the rockford forum: --------------- Originally posted by newkid Your output level is too low and you anp gain is too high. Set the output levels to -5dB and turn down your amp gain. have set the output level to -10dB and maintained the gain on the amp. the hissing sound has gone down. the hissing is apparent when i turn the vol from zero to one with the engine and a/c off. once the vol increases to normal level, the hissing sound is masked. just to add, the -10dB was set by 3sixty after i followed the procedures to install using the tracks 1 and 2 from the setup disc. in this case, do i maintain -10dB from the setup or follow your recommendation to set output level to -5dB? ------------------------ take my advice...in fact if you download the latest software from the web, you'll notice that the output levels default to -3dB instead of -10.
