Burgerdog Neutral Newbie November 22, 2006 Share November 22, 2006 it doesn't really work on the mirrors... no wind to "blow" the water droplets away... i've been using it on my widscreen since 3 cars ago... never had any problem with juddering or spoilt wipers... ↡ Advertisement

Burgerdog Neutral Newbie November 22, 2006 Share November 22, 2006 yes... think they've now come out with another spray version for "easier" application. however, i feel that the original is easy enough to apply. if you're still worried about all the other negative reviews about rainX, you can first try it on the rear and side windows. you can decide if you really want to use it later... Trusty 1st Gear November 22, 2006 Author Share November 22, 2006 okayz.. do u happen to have any ways to remove it if i find its nt good?
Gubby Neutral Newbie November 22, 2006 Share November 22, 2006 I think the wiper will judder when the RainX effect is gone. Im using it as well. Works really great. Best of all, it actually REMOVE those grims on the windscreen Tried Autoglym glass polish also cannot get it removed. When the effect is gone, just reapply. Wipe the wipers with it as well. Bern2 Neutral Newbie November 22, 2006 Share November 22, 2006 Been using rain X for years ever since it came out. It is most useful on side, back windows and anywhere which doesn't require wipers, mirrors too to some extent. They do tend to make wipers judder. The compound actually bonds with the glass to form silicates... I think. Will not be easy to get rid off after that since theres a layer. Mebbe glass polish? Have even tried it in UK for a number of years, works great even in cold rainy weather. Not just car, have used it in a boat to great effect and also in the bathroom if you have glass doors. Makes cleaning them easier as water will not leave as much residue.
Trusty 1st Gear November 22, 2006 Author Share November 22, 2006 so u applied on the front windscreen as well? hmmm... so have to apply on the blades too i guess.. if not will judder? m hoping after applying it, i wont regret (no side effects). ps: how abt the 4 windows? Burgerdog Neutral Newbie November 22, 2006 Share November 22, 2006 hmm, i've never applied on the blades before. but i make an effort to clean the blades with the car shampoo whenever i wash the car maybe it helps... other than that, even when the rainX wears out, i don't seem to have the juddering problem... just that the water sheets off slower
Bern2 Neutral Newbie November 22, 2006 Share November 22, 2006 Nah... I only applied on the 4 side windows and back windscreen. Should leave the front alone cos the engineers at the car manufacturer would have done their homework on the best wiper /windscreen combination without judder and that's usually without adding stuff like rain x on. Auriginal Neutral Newbie November 22, 2006 Share November 22, 2006 I don't apply RainX on the blade, not suppose to anyway. For the wiper blades, I typically clean with a Meguire product, very very similar to Armour All. This will keep it nice, black and moist. When I wipe, there is no juddering. Oh, RainX also have a wiperwash additive which I pour into my wiper wash as well. With RainX, RainX Washer Additive and my Armour All on my wiper blades, I never encounter judder. ↡ Advertisement
