Satinepink Neutral Newbie January 1, 2007 Share January 1, 2007 Given that stability upgrades aid in a cars handeling, would the installation of rear strut bar, rear anti-roll bar, room bar, front strut & front anti-roll bars minimize danger posed to passengers in a car(starlet) in the event of an accident? I have been thinking about this for the longest time... ↡ Advertisement
Cordia_gsr Neutral Newbie January 1, 2007 Share January 1, 2007 That's a good question. I happened to chance upon this website "Ultra-Racing" about safety aspects of their product in the events of collision. http://www.ultraracing.com.my/Safety_Aspects_page_ENG.htm
Satinepink Neutral Newbie January 1, 2007 Author Share January 1, 2007 Yeah, am planning on getting UR to fit my ride and that's what prompted me to ask if struts really protect passangers.

Satinepink Neutral Newbie January 2, 2007 Author Share January 2, 2007 I'm not doubting the stability at all. Its the safety aspect that I'm concerned with.
Cordia_gsr Neutral Newbie January 2, 2007 Share January 2, 2007 Well, it's not really proven in pratical, just like other bros mentioned, it greatly depends on the point of the impact. However, I would say, having these "add-ons" will be more effective in terms of road handling. No harm putting them on
Cordia_gsr Neutral Newbie January 2, 2007 Share January 2, 2007 Happy New Year to you too! That's great to hear! I bet there will be good deals on and off for MCF members? I think there were some group buys sometime back? (Can't remember)

Satinepink Neutral Newbie January 7, 2007 Author Share January 7, 2007 Sigh...my wife is concerned of the safety of the starlet...hence the topic. Another thing, how many of you bros have fitted a child seat in the rear? Tried with my friend's child seat but seemed like there was practicaly no leg room for a baby! I believe his seat is larger than normal. Steam, you had a child seat fitted in your ride right? Any pics for me to show the wifey that it IS possible? Age1298 Neutral Newbie March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 Hi Bro, read this thread with some interest. I am looking to put in these safety features into my recently bought starlet as well. Presently only have a front strut installed. Can you point me in the right direction and let me know what is the cost of installing these features? i.e. rear strut, rear anti roll and front anti roll bars. Not considering the room bars as its quite funny looking within the car. Thanks
Satinepink Neutral Newbie March 2, 2007 Author Share March 2, 2007 ahhh...i was just conversing with StarletGT with regards to the UR bars. If you're really keen, contact him. I'm planning on getting mine done next month, not confirmed yet. IMHO, unless you're pushing 130bhp and track alot, you don't need the FULL setup. Front/rear anti-roll and rear strut coupled with your existing front strut should suffice for our rides. our cars are compact and nimble. Excellent power-weight ratio. Therefore, the more you add on, the heavier it weighs. http://www.ultraracing.com.my/
Catapulp Neutral Newbie March 11, 2007 Share March 11, 2007 some say the strut bars will protude from the other direction after getting knocked on 1 side. ↡ Advertisement
