well perhaps they would if they were to collide with those whose rides are even lower . .

 

 

not forgetting that head-on collisions are not as common as that caused by tailgating.

that's okay. what about ground to sideskirt?

One of my neighbours own a Mazda RX8 with bodykit and lower suspension. One day, I happened to measure the clearance from the ground to the underside of the bonnet lid and sideskirt. Surprisingly, it's only 4" and when I asked him how he could avoid hitting those road humps, he told me that he has to drive over very slowly to prevent any damage.

 

Everytime when the above occurs, he kenna horned by vehicles behind. He regretted making his car bodywork so low and now only uses the RX8 occasionally. As for daily use, he drives a plain saloon car.

ah... this teaches us to do things in moderation... rather to over do it. personally, I do not think a car lowered to this extend is worth any effort. spend $$$ and need to worry abt humps so much...
