Turbobrick Neutral Newbie January 9, 2002 Share January 9, 2002 (edited) Are engine and gearoils similar? Although the visco range differs by number but the "effective" visco allows some to use engine oil in gearboxes.....what gives? btw, anyone tried adding some 2T oil with the engine oil? Myfocus Neutral Newbie January 14, 2002 Share January 14, 2002 Only applies to highly modified engines. Yours is 4stroke so power is only on alternate strokes. G's is highly modified and fires on every stroke so he gets double the power, summore got turbo. bottom line, you dun need 2T in your engine, unless you've modd'ed it like our dear list owner....... what's the principle behind the recommendation of adding 2t to the engine oil?
