Zrun Neutral Newbie May 2, 2003 Share May 2, 2003 Is it advisable to use orbital buffer on brand new car? Even after properly washed and clayed? What kind of bonnets do you use, to prevent swirls. There are 3 types of clothes that came with my buffer. 1. Applicator, 2. cotton for removing wax, 3. wool for final buffing. At 3200RPM, it seems to me that it can be very destructive. I tried it on my 300ZX, it is very pleasant to use, able to wax a car in less than 30 minutes. However, I do not dare to use it on my new car, which has almost no swirl marks as yet. ↡ Advertisement
S2P2 Neutral Newbie May 2, 2003 Share May 2, 2003 according to some, the buffing pad should only use 3M, the rest will leave swirl.....for most of us here, we hand polish the car, using Klasse thanks to Turbobrick, maybe you wanna check with him? Zrun Neutral Newbie May 2, 2003 Author Share May 2, 2003 Thanks, my other question is that Klasse is actually an arcylic protectant, there's no reason to use buffer right? What is the liquid quality of Klasse? creamy, or fluid? I've not used anything other than carnauba wax before. Are you saying that other than using buffing pad to _purposely_ cut/fine sanding, any other kind of non cutting substance, like wax, will create some minor form of swirl marks? Therefore, ideal paint condition should never be machine buffed? However, I heard that using machine to polish car will create extremely good results. S2P2 Neutral Newbie May 2, 2003 Share May 2, 2003 so far most of us do not use buffing machine because it does result in some swirl marks. we have tried many products and must say Klasse comes top in our lisy. its fluid, does not leave any swirl marks, does not leave any white stains and is easy to clean off. the sealant can last many days. Me and saaber has used this on many of the forumer's cars and there now swear by it....the ease of using it and the gloss it gives is fantastic. i have heard a couple of forumers that uses the machine and are not happy with the marks left behind, even when done by certain professionals. the reason why we can do by hand is coz klasse is a real breeze to clean off.....so there is no need at all to machine buff it.
