Dopod Battery

Today, my Dopod 818pro (bought last december) cannot be switch on even if I used external power.

 

Since my colleague is using the Dopod 838pro and Dopod D810, I tried to borrow the battery from them. To my surprise, the battery is not the same for the 3 model.

 

Sian.. I have to go down SiS

 

But Nokia battery is interchangeable but you must check the voltage rating. The new one is 3.7V.

is this about Dopod battery not being interchangeable??or about the handphone that spoilt in less than 6 months???i believe the fault lies with the handphone and not the battery since you said external power also cannot switch the handphone on....

I bought my dopod 818pro during last Xmas. May07 (5 months only) I encountered the same as yours. Sent for repair, guess what, they have a new motherboard replaced. Now holding 2nd Mini O2, much better than Dopod, thou Dopod can be used like normal but don't like it anymore. Treat it as a backup case my O2 die ...

Fyi, the seller sold me his faulty O2, we tested it but din have any SIM to test calleing when buying over. We tested all buttons, no aligment out,etc.. oni 1 we did not test but end up its' that problem. Lucky still under repair free period, last few days this phone turns 1 year. The seller gave us the pouch + wireless card (dono call wat lah). Per sis, the pouch selling at $40, per hubby, the card selling at $60. So kinda cheap for that phone for total cost @320...

I have 2 complains.

1. Dopod Battery is non-interchangeable between model 818pro, D810 and 838pro. I think they are same size but the battery terminal is at different location.

2. Windows alignment is out. My ex-colleague has this problem too.

 

Regarding the battery, I spoke to the SiS. They said the battery is too low. We need plug the power for 10 minutes until we see the amber light. After that, we could switch on the Dopod.

No problem.

 

My ex-colleague having 818pro has the same problem. I think they replaced the motherboard or the window screen or both. I guessed 818pro has this problem.

 

Fortunately, my Dopod is still under warranty.

U must have flat out the battery.

 

It happen to me before, forgotten to charge my Atom Exec...and the batt went flat...I plug in to external power also cannot fire up...but can't remember wait how long(not very long...I think under 10mins)...I managed to get it switch on.

Think u drained the batt flat, encountered before.

 

I usually charge the batt externally (I have 2 batt and a external charging adaptor).

 

Any Dopod 818pro is abt 2 yrs old or more oredi....neber gien me any problem until few weeks ago, screen went bizzard! Like watching off frequency channels!

 

Fortunately office paid for extended warranty from Harvey, got it repaired for 300+, now back and running......happy!!!
