Tea3 Neutral Newbie May 16, 2003 Share May 16, 2003 Dear all, Posted this before few months ago. Will post it one more time before I go to CA. I need a spare 14" rim with or without tyre for my Fabby. Don't have a spare in my boot. How much you willing to sell? CA selling it for S$100 rim + tyre. Called up a few tyre shops but they either don't have or junked them already. Thanks in advance. ↡ Advertisement
Volk74 Neutral Newbie May 16, 2003 Share May 16, 2003 What happened to your spare tyre? Someone stole it? But I think it is an good option to remove it...to reduce the weight So do you have better fuel consumption w/o the spare?
Tea3 Neutral Newbie May 16, 2003 Author Share May 16, 2003 Hahaha... someone stole it? No lah. I busted my car's left side rear rim 3 days after I got my car while cornering into my friend's flat at Chin Swee Road. It was during CNY. Dark night, narrow road, not familiar with car & I was tired. Mounted curb & busted both rim & wheels but still drove up to MSCP. Not bad... Looking back, I can laugh but I wasn't on that night. Since then, I don't drive if feeling tired or ask friend to drive instead. Got many volunteers but they always switch on wiper when want to corner because mostly drive jap cars. Better fuel comsumption? I have no idea because 3 days too short to make comparison. Now, the boot is like my store room - got plenty of stuff for the car & myself. So I think not much difference to the fuel consumption. Don't think it is advisable to remove spare tyre from boot even if it does improve fuel consumption. Volk74 Neutral Newbie May 16, 2003 Share May 16, 2003 Wow! busted two tyres...very good skills.. So I guess u have to call for help that night...Fabia is not a Citroen which can still move with 3 tyres.. But U will still have the rims right?..just go and buy tyres loh.. Ya people will tend to on the wiper...I think no wise things as may spoil both the wiper blade and windscreen when dry..
Tea3 Neutral Newbie May 17, 2003 Author Share May 17, 2003 (edited) No lah. I busted the left passenger tyre & rim. There was a big dent in the rim. Yeah, such great skills. Yeah, I had to call my brother to come help change the tyre. Had a lot of trouble un-screwing the nuts. Was so tight. I changed all my tyres to brand new Falken. Now still got the spare tyre but no rim only. If no one has any 14" rim to sell/donate to me, then I will go to CA & ask if they still have 14" rims so that I can buy one.
