Compare with Hertz Hi-Enengy HSK 165 (6.5" 2-way Component) $428

 

which one better?

i am looking at an active system

I dun think it is fair to compare these two spkrs as there is a $300 difference inprice. The DA is definately superior, however, you shld ask urself these questions

 

1) am i prepared to spend the extra $300

 

2) to I have an amp and an install that justifies such an expensive pair of speakers

I have not used any of those speakers before but the DA seems to be getting some pretty good review.

 

Anyway, my point is that you may need to see if your HU can support active setup or you could do your cross over at the amp (if you have any).

yes i be using amps for the system n a subwoofer

i know it not fair to compare those 2 speaker.. maybe i should rephase is it worth it to pay 300+ more for the speakers?

I am no expert but from what brothers here usually advise is that you should hear the 2 set of speakers and see which one you like. If you can't hear any difference, then why pay $300 more?

 

9887? ok cool.. you can run active on that and with the imrpint technology, it should be good..

the extra $300 is definately worth it if you already have, or are planning to get, an amp that will do those speakers justice.

 

you are already on the right path by getting a quality HU in the 9887.

im using 9887 with DA. the speaker mid bass is gd. :) i got my DA around $700 (incld gst & installation). PM if you want to sit in to listen. :)

I have audit the speaker b4, if you are willing to pay $300 extra, you are getting the worth in term of sound quality IMO. But depending on the amp you have, you'll need a matching amp to bring out the potential of the speaker.

Then DA is definately the choice over hertz, in fact, this LRX can drive DLS iridium, if you willing to spend 1.3k for it.
