Speed Limits

1) When you are in the UK, once you are near cities, the limit drops to 60 or 50 mph (96/80 km/h). Singapore is a city....

 

2) Our expressway lane widths are narrow compared to the long distance e-ways where the limit is higher.... For higher limits, you need the lanes to be about 0.5m wider, like in Malaysia NSH.

 

3) Once you are near Sg Besi (15-20km from KL) the limit also drops to 90 km/h.

 

I have no complaints. You can safely do 101 here without being caught. You can't do that in Melbourne. I know people there who have been caught doing 1-2 km/h above the limit.

 

4) You don't need to drive at the limit. You can be below too you know.

i always feel 80km/h too slow for sg highway. 110-110 will be just nice.

if heavy vehicles keep out of lane 1 & 2 of expressway... 100-110 is possible.

 

or else even if LTA changes the speed limit to 150km/hr... most car would not be able to achieve that speed on the expressway here.

bro... shld be CTE too many cars!! hahaha... put limit at 80 oso sometimes cannot hit

 

but like wad some bros said... SG expressways not like other countries' big long flat... so they put at 90.... actually all these got calculate using formula wan... wad sighting distance... object distance... wad AASHTO design recomendations... bla bla bla...

 

anyways tink our tp oso quite flexible +/- 10km/h...

no conplains here ... maybe cos i seldom get to travel on empty straight stretches of the e-way...
