besides VAFC ... did u add Hondata ECU ? that should boost power somewhat?.. did u manage to do a dyno? ...wonder if from chart can tell if vetc kick in ... which brings to an idea .. u know we have shiftlamp? maybe should come up with a Vetc kick in Lamp (VKL) which will light up with a red VTEC! when it's kicked in ... nice idea huh?

i would love a hondata but i cant afford it now yet.. so play vafc first

the apexi vafc2 does have red LED light to indicate the cams switchover point though

I am considering getting the 2L Civic .. it's cheap now ... but can it outrun a RX7 ? i dont want to loose to my classmate!

 

if you talking about FD 2.0Si.. no u dont stand a chance with the rx-7

if you talking about a fully lightened ef/eg/ek hatchback with modded b20c.. yes it will smoke the crap out of the rx7 even in NA.. not talking about TC yet

my previous ride was city vtec, but it ever was eaten by VVT-i corolla G9, shame to talk

years ago, on highway I runned at about 110km/h on extreme right lane, a corolla G9 tailgated me a while, then shifted to left lane tried to overtake me, I floored my throtle (tot Vtec kicked in aready), but the corolla G9 still could overtake me and shifted back to extreme right lane in front of me

why did my vtec not work

 

fren...i believe ur City Vtec is those running L15A found on the Fit/Jazz... i think u r expecting too much from the Vtec engine... firstly, those SOHC Vtec are not made to be a power on demand type of engine, their Vtec stages are made more for fuel economy n power bend in mid-range region in mind.....

Oei Oei Oei ... it is still Vtec ... how can you say that? that means the city Vtec is not Vtec? or the TypeR Vtec is the Real Vtec .. then how about the iVtec? can some Vtec master come and clarify the Vtecnology here?

no b20c is not type r.. its the 2litre crv block with a vtec head.. basically just a 2 litre b-series vtec

nope... not driving a Vtec.... but had chances to work on them many years back...
