Spanly 5th Gear December 2, 2014 Share December 2, 2014 Just came back from a trip to Tokyo Disneyland & DisneySea… so hopefully the below simple write up would be useful for those interested Those who’ll be staying in Tokyo or Shinjuku upon reaching Narita airport can take the NEX (Narita Express) which is an express train to either Tokyo or Shinjuku station where they offered a promo rate to foreigner at just 1500 yen (must show your passport when purchasing the tickets). An advantage of this train is they provide luggage storage on the train & you’ve reserved seating. Too bad this promo price is only for 1 way from Narita airport & not for return leg. For those going to Disneyland/Sea, I would suggest staying a day or 2 at one of the 6 Disney Official hotels. http://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/about/rh/official.html You’ll be able to purchase your parks tickets directly at these hotels so you need not queue to buy them from the parks’ tickets booths which will be crowded. These hotels also provide free shuttle to the nearest Bayside Station on the Disney Resort line… some hotels also provide free shuttle to the Maihama station where you can take the JR train & there’s also a shopping mall there for some shopping & makan. Strongly recommend those with small kids to consider staying at these hotels. For those with $$$ to spare, then you can splurge to stay at 1 of the 3 Disney hotels itself. I purchased the 2 days pass which allow me to choose 1 day for Disneyland & another day for DisneySea. You must specify which day for which park when you purchase the pass. You’re allow to re-enter the park within the same day (need to get the chop before you exit) if you intend to go out for a short rest at the hotel or meals at the shopping mall. I was there at the parks on weekdays (Thur & Fri). It was crowded nevertheless esp at Disneyland. However wasn't as bad as what some the posts mentioned earlier that need to queue for hours (perhaps it will be the case if is weekends? )... I still managed to take close to 10 rides for the whole day (arrived at 9 plus am till leaving around 9:30pm) at Disneyland; using FastPass on 2 occasions, the longest wait was about 1 hr. For DisneySea, it was less crowded & we probably managed around 11-12 rides in all (leaving much earlier around 6pm as the park closed early that day due to some event). Some photos to share... Managed to catch my only Mt Fuji view on a fine day from my hotel room. The shopping mall beside Maihama station Inside It's a Small World in Disneyland Seem to be the craze by the Japanese... saw both young & old, gals & guys grabbing these toys in DisneySea DisneySea X'mas deco inside the Disney Resort Line ↡ Advertisement
