Yup...coz version 1 iphone cannot upgrade to version 2. Even if can, some features are going to get corrupted. At least u must find a person that really know wad he is doing.

If i'm not wrong its something got to do with a extra dun know wad micro chip thingy in the later version thats why price shoot up...

So if that's the case .... the iPhone that is going to launched in Sg .... which version of the software would it be on?

If the one that is launched here has the same version of the software as what you currently running on.

Then would your phone still fetch the higher value?

I'm not sure about the version coming into sg. But definately the latest.

Its not possible that the iPhone coming into sg to be in the same version as mine.

Coz as I said, in version 1.1.3(mine is 1.1.1 now upgraded to 1.1.2), theres a micro chip thingy for some feature, this i'm not sure wad feature.

If the verison coming into sg is going to be 1.1.1, I dun think anybody will buy becoz it doesn't have the micro chip thingy...

I found out le.

The purpose of the micro-chip is just to allow foreign sim-card to be used in iPhone. Form of hack...
