08 latio steering

Hi all,

 

Help needed!! My friend's 2yr old latio steering has a "kok" sound when doing a full lock.

 

Normal steering is fine but it feels tad bit heavy. anyone knows whats wrong?? what are the possible problem??

 

She told tan cheong mech they say did check n nothing wrong izzit normal??

 

any help is greatly appreciated!!

The kok sound is it when full lock hit to maximum le? Its pretty normal i suppose..

norm.... ur friend 1st time doing a full lock ar?

 

but if its tiak tiak sound when turning (not related to signal light)...... then steering coupling need to change.... quite a number of older latio has this prob.

 

btw.... ur title "08" refering to simi?

not the tiak tiak sound... and also not the same kok sound when you full lock ur steering hard... slowly turn also have the kok sound...

half way thru the full lock, not when you over shot hit maximum den got sound leh...

Me have same problem. First time they also say nothing wrong. Second time insisted the service manager to drive the car, then he confirm knocking noise and get it repaired. Said it is something about steering joint. Now ok.

Go back to TC and get change lor

Occasionally full lock is fine. But doing full lock excessively with knocking sound will cause the steering pin to loosen or worst case to drop off, this usually need to send the car for steering alignments.
