Differentiate bitrate visually

I have no idea how to differentiate. I suggest you get the original and rip it yourself using VBR. Better than a static 192. I use LAME encoder.

i've only got soft copies, i don't have the discs or vinyls so i can't rip myself.

supposedly i've obtained a 192k version but they sound quite similar to me - i dont trust my ears so i'm wondering if anyone can differentiate them by looking at the waveforms.

well qn is, is that of a higher bitrate a smoother graph or one with more crests and troughs at the same interval?

Actually your ears can't differentiate much. Actually, to a child, they can since their hearing is not degraded. Not so for someone over 40.

oh dear do I sound 40. I'm half that actually. [:)]

they do sound different but i do not know which is better

one sounds 'scattered'. is that better or not? but i'm sure scattered means different things to us.
