Rev_zone Neutral Newbie July 1, 2008 Author Share July 1, 2008 That's weird. So far it serve me well even for last night wet surface, purposely turn a slightly down slope bend without braking and the tail never feel a single movement of skidding. Think I should push abit more harder and try it out. ↡ Advertisement
Magfocus 5th Gear July 1, 2008 Share July 1, 2008 Well, Conti's are known to be gentlemanly tyres, quiet, grippy etc, but not at 9/10ths and above Just do not think that its worth that sort of money..
Rev_zone Neutral Newbie July 1, 2008 Author Share July 1, 2008 You got a point. Think you should try out S1evo now so can provide a comparison FR between these 2 tyres.
Magfocus 5th Gear July 1, 2008 Share July 1, 2008 (edited) Have a friend who changed out of these tyres to the Hankook RS2, waiting for his FR as well.. Edited July 1, 2008 by Magfocus
Cyano Neutral Newbie July 3, 2008 Share July 3, 2008 Was on CSC2 (17" stock) for about 9 months...then changed to S1evo 18"...been about more than a month now. Rough feedback is that S1evo is just a tiny bit quieter than CSC2...but is definitely more comfortable (easily noticable). Dry/Wet grip feels the same. However, aquaplanning performace is not as good as CSC2, which still grips when going over a shallow pool of water.
Rev_zone Neutral Newbie July 3, 2008 Author Share July 3, 2008 Finally got reviews between the 2. For noise, I guess is comparing a 9 mths old and 1 mth old tyre so the tiny bit so overall could say both is the same right? Comfort level I'm not surprise S1evo is better as CSC2 got harder sidewall. So to you is it worth paying for S1evo since each tyre can save pretty much compare to CSC2? I guess it does. Atx2 Neutral Newbie July 4, 2008 Share July 4, 2008 I've try both CSC2 & S1evo before. This is my 2nd time using the S1evo, IMO S1evo is better for me and it also depend on your driving style. And the last thing is the Hankook service is good.

Ae101r Neutral Newbie July 5, 2008 Share July 5, 2008 KNN......hankook copy from CSC.....Korean where got their own design n tech,....all copy one....
Rev_zone Neutral Newbie July 5, 2008 Author Share July 5, 2008 Maybe ..... just like RS2 looks alike as AD07. But one thing should salute to them, copy also copy so good with better compound.
Joho Neutral Newbie July 8, 2008 Share July 8, 2008 changed from csc2 to rs2 and done 1000kms on it.. in the dry, it's a no brainer which is the better tyre, it's the hankook. in the wet i'm not sure yet as i haven't driven in huge rain yet, semi wet roads yes and the hankook is fine there. one thing i find hard to accomplish is "longitudinal grip" on my tyres as i drive quite a powerful front drive car... so if u ask me whether the hankooks are better, it's like asking me if my skill for launching the car has improved.. i see no apparent difference. there is a slight difference (favouring the hankooks) when it's a rolling start tho. lateral grip no need to say, rs2 much better. the rs2 is also a quiet tyre at the moment, but i'm expecting it to be much noisier when it is more worn.... Abba Neutral Newbie July 19, 2008 Share July 19, 2008 Actually if you look closely, RS-2 has an additional center rib & drainage channel compared to AD07. That explains why R-S2 beats AD07 in the wet hands down and very sharp steering
Rev_zone Neutral Newbie November 5, 2008 Author Share November 5, 2008 After talking so much for so long I finally changed to S1evo just now. Don't is heng or suay, just put on new rubber but weather damn bad with heavy down-pour. Other than performance I can only say the sidewall is slightly softer than CSC2 but I'm not surprise as S1evo was made from soft silica compound. Will try to run-in few more days then make another comparison.
Leepee 1st Gear November 5, 2008 Share November 5, 2008 The tyres design lately seems to favour deep and wide channels for water to escape. Sometimes I feel that these void spaces ration are too high in relation to the rubber blocks that are actually touching the ground. I feel more secure in those old skool tires where the water channels are "narrower" and "lower void space ratio".
Carmodz Neutral Newbie November 6, 2008 Share November 6, 2008 Went to enquire about CSC2 at Stamford, asked for 205 45r17. Was Quoted $600+ /pc b4 25% discount....even after that Buy 3 get 1 free discount, it works out to be $400+/tyre. I was agape.
Rev_zone Neutral Newbie November 6, 2008 Author Share November 6, 2008 Bro, seriously you should consider S1evo now. Just now I went to Tamp Ikea, you know the left bend leading to Ikea from the main road? I tired to play abit on that bend before running in my tyre (24hrs old) and I was shock of the kind of grip it had on dry. From there I can tell it's a better choice than CSC2. I'm used to CSC2 stiff sidewall but S1evo is not that much softer also yet gain abit more comfort.
Carmodz Neutral Newbie November 6, 2008 Share November 6, 2008 (edited) heh heh, thanks bro for your advice. yup, i agree with you. Thats because i used 215 40 17 s1 evo b4, and i love those babies. Drove to up and down NSH, drove to Bangkok, drove from Penang to Rantau Panjang through the mountain roads, had a wonderful experience with them! Now on V12s to try try. Anyway, comparing $400+ for CSC2 vs $200+ for the S1 Evos, i think the S1 Evos has a heck load of VALUE! Can buy 2 sets of S1 for 1 set of CSC2 lor. Not doubting the capabilities of the CSC2, but im just a low level employee, have to be smart in my expenditure. Cheers!
