Hi all,

I would like to seek some expert advice from all of u. And of coz, its not restricted to focus owners only but i certainly wish to hear from all of u ple, thx in adv!! [:)]

1) Did anybdy see the body-kit fixed on the black focus at RM? I was offered $1.8k for it, incl spraying, is it worth it? Is there anyplace in sg where i can get it cheaper and installed properly. It comes with a new front grill, bumper with foglites, side skirts, new rear bumper and skirt, exhaust cover pipe and rear roof spoiler. Btw, the body kit is meant for the ambieniate model.

2) Is there a gd place to fix leather seats? u see, i 'm not very satisfied with the quality and workmen ship of the supplier for RM. Furthermore i wanted black leather and those shown to me by my SE looks dark grey to me. Heard Regency is gd and is it true IDM = Tomo?

3) As i will asking RM not to paste the silver trims on the centre console and door handles, i am afraid the Alpine may look out of place with its silver surround. So i was thinking of changing the headunit. any suggestion on which unit to install on the focus?

4) is there any matt silver surround for the gear surround? And is there a better looking gear shift? my wife thinks it looks like drumstick [:p]

So far, that's abt all [:p] thx again!!

Go for the MOMO gearknob! All kinds, we have a spherical black and shine one that we really like the feel and look of. This place in Kallang Bahru. Check with Cardinal for details, sorry I can't remember the name. They sell all the recaro stuff too.

The name of the shop is Miki Marketing, would advise you to look it up on the yellowpages website for their addy. it's hard to describe.

But since yours is an auto, I don't think there are many aftermarket gearknobs for them right?

I think the $1.8k quoted is ok....def much lower than $3k quote given about 3 months ago...that is if you don't mind the silver netting grille...some ladies say a bit too much [:p]

did you also know that the original interior color of focus was black before some wise dude at Ford decide to change the color to grey....RM says cannot change becoz factory specs....no more black one liao

also the alpine unit so so only....the previous model carried the Blaupunkt unit...

just my two cents.... [:)]

1) Personally, I would rather not go for the body kit except that the price you got for the body kit is real cheap from what they are offering the last time. (Think it was bout 3-4K during the time when I booked the car last oct). As you mention, the body kit is for the Ambieniate model... hmmm maybe they are trying to clear away old stock. I will find it abit funny to see the signal lights on both in both the intergrated headlamp portion and the portion below the headlamps. Hmmm which one will u be using then? hmmm... The exhaust cover pipe looks good but will be useless if u r planning to change it next time... example ... I have mine change into the Remus. Foglights of cos comes standard on the comfort model so guess u would have ask for a rebate on that since the body kit come intergrated with a seperate foglights on the bumper. I do like the look of the grills though... and the price is cheap as compared to b4. Personally I would rather wait to see if the body kit of the comfort model will come in later and spend the 2 k on enhancing the performance of the car... example...

a. Change the stock speakers... it sucks

b. You might want to join in the group buy for the K&N filter in the focus forum... enhacing the performance

c. Hmmmm remus exhaust

d. Lowered springs and shocks....

e. Mintex brake... A must

f. Change to 16 inch sports rims and tyres... hey the 15 inch will look funny wit the body kit on.

Personally I would prefer to do up the car based on the performance and comfort rather than the look. What the use of having nice bodykit if ultimately when u move off the road, u find it sluggish.

2) Cant say much about the quality of the leather seats but I believe that u can request for black leather seats with no additional charge. The leather uphostry is from TOMO... u might want to go to their place in Macpherson to see if they can offer u something better. They sld have better quality ones as they do the seats for BMW and merc as well.

3) Hmmm without silver trims... i really wonder how will it look? What will they be replacing it with??? U sld be glad that u have alpine system now as compared to the old BLK datona beach. Change to Alpine 79 series... they have black HU as well. If u would to change to other brands... u would have to change the CD changer as well which is not worth it. BTW... u can go to Specialist Audio if u wish to change the HU b4 delivery of the car.... but please dun change the speakers from them as they suck up mine.

4) Dun think u can change the Auto gear stick... Have not seen any even from US and UK focus site.

Not sure about Ford's auto gearknob but Volvo's knob is an entire assembly and has to be yanked out of the gear console so cannot replace with aftermarket...... [:/]

How do I join the focus forum? [:)]

It's under Delphi forums, called S Club Focus. Never why they gave it that name, any relation to a particular girl-cum-boy band perhaps?

Thanks To all for the help. What I am not sure is the 'Jump to Forum ' @ the bottom of this page. When ever I click on that it prompts that I need to login. How do I register for that?

Hey, HL,

Since you're into improving your Focus, why not take the advice of a non-Focus owner and have blue-red livery splashed all over it and add a really cool spoiler on the top rear-end of the roof and a HUGE Ford emblem on the roof top....? [:)]
