-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Forget about the forthcoming Nissan GT-R V-Spec; if you're searching for the most extreme version of the 'Godzilla' look no further than to the Le Mans Edition that marks its return on the GT-R R35. Japan's Best Car magazine has learned from inside sources that along with the development of a Le Mans competition car, Nissan is also working on a street-legal version of the GT-R which will be named LM Edition and will be built in an extremely limited number of units.

This won't be the first time that the GT-R will gain an LM edition as in the late-1990's Nissan had marketed a limited production Skyline GT-R R33 referred to as "LM Limited" which was only available in a Competition Blue finish. The vehicle was built to honor the Skyline's that took part in the 24-hours of Le Mans.

Even though official information is still scarce, sources state that the GT-R LM Edition will be powered by a modified version of the standard car's 480HP 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing a whopping 600HP. If the base-model is considered to be one of the fastest cars around, we can only imagine what the LM Edition will be like.

Understandably, the GT-R LM Edition will feature an array of upgrades including larger brakes, lighter alloy wheels, suspension and transmission tweaks as well as aerodynamic improvements through the use of a new bodykit.

Some people may think its overpriced, some don't.

One such good example is the Civic Type RR. Look at how fast it was sold out. Apparently some people didn't think it was overpriced.

I used to tell people that even if their XYZ car can chop Ferraris so what ?

A Ferrari will always be a Ferrari. [rolleyes]

Same goes to the GTR. Even if the base model GTR can chop the Le mans GTR. Its still a Le mans GTR.

any dealers can estimate the pricing of this car?

I am thinking it will be priced at around $400k after it reaches our shore. Or rather, IF it reaches singapore

I heard that Nissan is cutting down cost on motor sports. They will withdraw from Dakar Rally and they will just run both JGTC and Le Mans only. The production of the GT-R Le Mans suggest, they are going back to Le Mans after so long. But then, using the GT-Rs to fight against those LMPs, think Nissan got to come out another "R39x", probably a R392 ?

All cars can run 24hrs one lah....

But I seriously doubt Nissan will sell the GTR in full Le Mans specs.

Sure got something missing somewhere....

Want to build a 1000bhp monster not a problem....cos very soon HKS will launch the R35 Dragster liao....just pay and you will get the same monster.....just that dunno how to drive in SG road only....laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif

All cars can run 24hrs if they were travelling at 60kph more or less.

All cars cannot however survive a 24hr race.

Le Mans Spec and Le Mans Edition is 2 different thing.

haha.. i'm not so in touch with dakar and le mans... but nw tt u mentioned... maybe they created the LM to fit some rules in le mans that says need to build x number of cars and sold in how many continents...

JGTC is another story.. been followin it most of the time... its known as Super GT after the 2004 season....

btw.. the Xanavi Nismo (no. 23) jus won the title 2 weekends ago... GTR's debut season... [thumbsup][thumbsup] ... even thou its a different monster from the road version... but well.. wad the heck... [:p]

wonder if any one follows it in Sg... [:/]

Hi Zcold, that rule is the homologation bah. I also have no idea. Nissan has a good record in JGTC all along from replacing R34 GT-Rs with V33 Z and then the now R35 GT-Rs. Ever since Supra (JZA80) had withdrawn and replace with Soarer (SC430), Toyota chances of winning is not as good as last time.

I have plans of watching the Super GT in Sepang next year. I think it will take years for Super GT to come to Singapore. [:)]
