Veryfree Clutched April 8, 2009 Share April 8, 2009 actually very tempted to try i30. $47k is good value. 122bhp. i am just choosing between a pre-owned or a new one. if pre-owned, have to wait for sometimes for a reasonable priced i30. ↡ Advertisement
Leeshunda100 Neutral Newbie April 8, 2009 Share April 8, 2009 hi there all, thank you for your inputs. My only fear its a Korean car.No offence.Resale very bad. Enough is enough...I am sick of reading korean/ch/conti/boleh car resale value bad. this is a strategy from jap fans that is telling the world only japs cars got higher resell value u paid more for jap cars u gain a bit more when u sell...thats all who cares about 2 to 3k more when u losing 20k when selling ur car end of the day u must like what u buy and thats the most important and for the rest of the matters who cares enjoy ur ride

Junjie 1st Gear April 9, 2009 Share April 9, 2009 No worries bro, the rest are just trying to let you know the myth on higher resale value for Jap cars as always mentioned by sellers...basically it's bullshxt!...be it jap or korean ride, the so-called higher resale value is rubbish...u pay at least 15-20k or more to buy a jap ride and get back 2-3k more when selling it off, worth it? anyway, current situation be it jap or korea, resale/trade in price is very very miserable..basically left your OMV + COE paper value.... Anyway, some of the Jap rides actually from Thailand not really from Jap....I would really consider MIK rather than MIT unless the price is pretty attractive...i30 built quality especially the interior will put many so-called Jap rides in shames..... Asg14 Neutral Newbie April 9, 2009 Share April 9, 2009 Hi There, I test drove both the avante and i30. Saw the japanese makes as well but didn't like them for some reason or another. Chose the i30 as the handling was better. Avante a little too light on the steering for my liking. The interior has a better finishing (really like factory installed units) and the shape looks nice. Threw in a little bit more cash for a body kit and bigger rims. Grips the road better (but loss out on fc). Long and short is that I feel good in the car and didn't really like driving a sedan. Boot space is sufficient to throw in family stuff. Sunroof makes the wife and kids happy. Of course if I had more cash I would definitely upgrade to a golf (shape similiar) but hey, economy's bad, things uncertain so need to conserve cash. Pm me if you need the contact of my se, nice chap and made the process simple.

Just to add, only one complaint is that the seat system is not as flexible as the fit (test drove that too) where you can collapse and move forward in order to put in oversized items.
