Its FOC in some alignment workshop ... u can try a renowed alignment specialist , kenny at 90921015 I think Kenny is on wheel alignment only. But what if the steering itself is out? meaning the 4 wheels are perfectly align with each other, but the steering is not in alignment with the wheels? Yeobh 4th Gear June 26, 2009 Share June 26, 2009 Before a mech starts doing the wheel angles adjustment, the first thing to do is bump the car few times so that all the suspension joints and connection are seating properly. Once that is done the next task is to get the steering wheel straight ahead and lock it in position with the alignment steering lock tool ( not yr security steering lock). Now measuring and adjustments can be carried out. For out of 12o'clock position steering wheel, the mech can dismantle and reposition it but modern cars with SRS ( air bag) removing the steering wheel is not easy task. One has to disable the SRS module and when removing the steering wheel one has to be very careful not to upset or damage the fine clock spring that is part of the SRS triggering system Dismanlting, putting back and torgueing all the fine screws and finally reset the SRS module and doing a simulation test ( with tester) are not simple hand work as all the tasks call for use of specialised tools and testers. Yeobh 4th Gear June 26, 2009 Share June 26, 2009 In Singapore the permissible side slip for vehicle is 5m on either lateral side over a distant of 1km. If yr ride deviate more than that specification it will fail the mandatory bi annual inspection. Just drive over yr car over a side slip tester and it will indicate the amount to side slip. ↡ Advertisement
