Pentrain Clutched September 22, 2009 Share September 22, 2009 Can advise which part of Marsiling? Someone mentioned Marsiling Drive but can't find any SPC at that road. From the map, there's only a SPC at Admiralty Rd. Is this the one? is it this one?? -> http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel...el_site_122400/ ↡ Advertisement

Mykarma Neutral Newbie October 6, 2009 Share October 6, 2009 Reading all the thread makes me hungry. Question - how come nobody mention about the many various different types of Bak Kut Teh in Balestier Road? The whole stretch from the corner restaurant opposite Loy Kee chicken rice to the coffee shop in front of Balestier Hill Pri School?
Mykarma Neutral Newbie October 6, 2009 Share October 6, 2009 The daily long queues forming just before thr 6:30pm opening of Founders BKT under the Orchid Hotel or the corner coffee shop next to Boon Tong Kee that opens late at night till morning or the coener coffee shop next to the Raffles Day Care Center, all along a 200meter stretch of Balestier Road going towards Thomson Road. Berncsp76 6th Gear October 8, 2009 Share October 8, 2009 My current staying place is in Whampoa/Balestier and have tried all the stalls along the stretch of road. IMHO i thk most of them are overrated and kinda pricey. This is because the stall owners know that most people would go their to have their BKT fix therefore there is some kind of monopolistic pricing going on there. Recently there is another air-conditioned BKT opened (thk about 1-2 months ago, named S933 BKT) to challenge with the Founder BKT, but the business is so-so only. I personally prefer a small stall just before the Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice outlet. They only start selling at around 6pm till the next day morning. The soup is just nice with a hint of peppery taste. It gives me a nostalgic feel...古早味. Add some side dishes such as Tao Ki/Tao Pok, Kiam Chye Buey and is a complete meal. Moreover i am already a regular there so the boss would give me larger pieces of those pai kut with huge chunks of meat barely hanging on it. Yum Yum! And the soup you can replenish as many bowls as you want without any cost.
3dwin Neutral Newbie October 8, 2009 Share October 8, 2009 how much one set? I dunno what set u mean..but the price is reasonable... one person eat (mixed claypot - bak kut with internal organs) and a small plate of salted veg costs less than 6 dollars
Butcher_hoe Neutral Newbie October 9, 2009 Share October 9, 2009 Hi BKT Lovers... Someone mentioned about Blk 19 Marsiling's BKT. For my taste buds, I think that is the best BKT you can get in SG. Reasonable pricing and they serve fast. Also, you get to enjoy their BKT as early as 8.30am in the morning till 8pm at night! Well, Marsiling's BKT is the non-peppery soup base. I am not able to share much on the peppery soup base because I'm not a big fan of it. If you guys are interested to eat BKT in JB, maybe you like to check this out http://ieatclub.com/ah-soon-bak-kut-teh-jb-632/review.htm
