hong lim market.

that time, quite some years back, my gf and i went to try the prawn noodles...

the stall is located near the link bridge to chinatown point there

both of us tasted it

it was quite good

however, after one hour, we both felt uncomfortable and worse, my gf had a major headache...

i think she had too much of the fried ''zhu you zhai'' bits added into her soup.

Ended up sick for 2 days...

she swore never to eat prawn noodles again..

haaha

I love the one at Tanglin Halt Market. Really cheap, $2-2.50 for a bowl. comes with 3-4 pieces of prawns sliced in half, fish cakes and the soup is really fragrant. The stall also sells laksa as well, damn nice!

Problem is that he sells out fast, so by 1-2pm, he is closing shop.

bedon south blk 16 , chaep and nice

Yes I agree with you very much. For me is the best I ever tried.

To me there are 2 types of prawn noodle: those with big prawns, and those without. Most of those stalls mentioned here are those with big prawns. My opinion is how can go wrong if big fresh prawns are used?! But to make prawn noodle with normal prawns and yet able to pull in tonnes of customers is another story!

This prawn noodle stall in blk 16 bedok south hawker center has been featured in numerous newspaper reviews, even featured in the channel 8 'pai pai zuo' variety show. For $2.00 you can a very delicious and big bowl of noodles with lots of ingredients. You will not feel oily or nauseas unlike some of the stalls mentioned in this thread that I had tried.

The queue there is even longer than the star stall in the hawker center, the legendary hill street cha kuay tiao stall! Get the $3 version. But it close by evening I think.

As a self-confessed foodie, here's my contribution to the Prawn Noodle Thread:

1) Golden Mile Hawker Centre, Chilli Mee Prawn Pork Rib Noodle.

The prawns are nothing to shout about, infact, most of the times, the prawns are not exceptionally fresh. But the focus of the stall owner is on the chilli and pork ribs. The chilli is fragrant and spicy enough, not spicy enough for me though because I love my chilli hot. Not to worry for patrons without a high threshold for spiciness, this is still pretty fine on the chilli bar. Soup wise, decent enough.

*Expect to spend max $4/bowl

2) Tai Thong Crescent, along Macpherson Road, Prawn Noodle Kopi Tiam

The prawns are good size and fresh all the time. If you like pig's 'spare-parts' like intestines and pig's tail, they do it pretty well too. Go for the dry noodles, the chilli here is exceptional.

*Expect to spend anywhere between $4 - $10/bowl depending on what you order

I hope you guys give it a try, these 2 places are where I go usually for my prawn noodle fixes.

Without fail will get our orders wrong.

There was once he started scolding me or some sort, I just told him "okok uncle, just make my prawn noodle. you win you win"

I can't really tolerate bad service but for <$10 and such good taste? I can't expect any service at all ! :D

That's how much I love their prawn noodles.

If you like something more pure and light, you can try out Wah Kee at Cambridge FC.

Try the $10 one. Shiok!

Prepare to queue and perspire while you enjoy the heavenly pure prawn noodles.

These 2 tops the chart!

River South used to be tops for me until I went to try Wah Kee........

Now only Wah Kee for me if I want very nice prawn noodles. Just the soup and the $10 prawns is good enough for me. No msg also

Btw, anyone tried those at more than $10 prawn noodles at Wah Kee??? Give some FR leh....
