Pippo20 Neutral Newbie November 30, 2009 Share November 30, 2009 WTF?! Kalimuthu?!! I remember he was the referee attacked by Sinchi players some years back, he was also the referee beaten by DPMM players.. But what makes me remember his FXXKED face is cos he officiated in one of my team friendly match, when one of the players was yellow carded and went up to him to question the decision, he put on a fierce Mike Tyson face and taunt the player to slap him. Oh my goodness, a referee who taunts players. Aren't them supposed to cool players & hostile situations down? ↡ Advertisement

Oh my goodness, a referee who taunts players. Aren't them supposed to cool players & hostile situations down? Sinchi vs Kalimuthu (Round 1) Sinchi blame referee after walkout farce Sinchi FC have pointed the finger at referee K Kalimuthu after their farcical walkout against Geylang United. But the Chinese side also promised to take severe disciplinary action against Zhang Jiang and Luo Tongliang, who assaulted the referee after Geylang's John Wilkinson scored from a freekick deep in injury-time. Both Zhang and Luo were sent off for violent behaviour after slapping Kalimuthu. The entire Sinchi side then proceeded to walk off the field in a huff, to a chorus of boos from the Bedok crowd. Referee Kalimuthu then blew for full-time with only the Geylang players left on the pitch. "The problem is with the referee making a series of mistakes and we feel that is simply unacceptable," said Sinchi general manager Fan Guangming. “This was a very crucial match for the club. We are currently in eighth position and fighting against Geylang to maintain this position. “Had we won then the eighth spot would be ours. We had no wish to see a repeat of the disastrous 2004 season where we finished ninth, so our players fought very hard to get something out of this match tonight." Sinchi assistant coach Li Changquan called his players' behaviour a 'natural' reaction. “The players put in so much effort for this cause and their own football careers. We all just simply want to get good results," said Li. “And then you watch it all go down the drain with one blow of the whistle. After putting in so much and yet getting nothing in return, people are going to naturally react to it. “But these reactions were all caused by the referee, not because our players were deliberately out to create trouble or cause a ruckus. We had absolutely no intention of doing that.” The Sinchi management however have promised to take disciplinary action against Zhang and Luo for their violent manhandling of the referee. “Whatever the referee’s decision is, no one should physically attack him. It is absolutely wrong,” said Fan. “Our players could not control their tempers then. Those found guilty will be dealt with severely, including the possibility of being sent home immediately.” Meanwhile referee Kalimuthu explained his award of the freekick that led to Geylang's winner and the subsequent fracas. "Sinchi's defender Wu Hao was tugging the jersey of Geylang's Fazrul Nawaz at the edge of the area. When the ball was pumped towards them, the defender again pulled Fazrul's jersey and then pushed him. "I then blew the whistle to signal a direct freekick. The Sinchi captain, Chen Bo, asked me 'For what?' in English. "I told him 'For shirt tug and pushing', and gestured the action of the defender. He understood me and accepted the decision, and his team-mates backed off to form the wall. "After Geylang scored, the Sinchi players confronted me. I could not understand what they were saying as they were speaking in Chinese. "The confrontation was getting more aggressive while my colleagues were trying to push them away from me. Then two players assaulted me and manhandled me. "I had no hesitation to send the two of them off then," said Kalimuthu. The S.League is expected to review the incident on video before deciding if a disciplinary committee session is to be convened.
