Guys guys

I need help. I can't decide between a Verna 1.4a, Verna 1.6a or Getz 1.4a. I am looking at a car with good FC lah. Small family with 2 kids only. Not sure which one to get.

I am tied between a Verna 1.4a and a Verna 1.6a, I ehard that 1.4a had no ABS. Getz is in my list however I believed all guys doesn't like HB. :(

HOW? I am so confused.

Everyone told me to get verna because of the boot space.

Drove Verna 1.6A for 5 year, the FC is really bad, avg about 10.5 km/l with city driving.

Anyway, with today car price FC only form a small potion of the cost for owning the car.

If FC is a concern, get a Toyota Vios

Siewss,

Actuator kaput - if you can diy, the last time my door actuator finally kaput, I bought a new one from HK via ebay, self install and it's working well now (plus at a much lower price <$20).

Hey, thanks for the tip. I'll go look up ebay. Considering how the actuators have been taking turns to conk out, this sure brings about good savings.

You're right about the boot. We can pack 2 weeks worth of luggage for a family of 5, plus shopping.

Mileage for the Verna 1.4M is about 13km/L - not great, and you're right, no ABS, which almost got me into trouble one rainy day when I stomped on the brakes.

And now, I have to announce - the 3rd door lock (right rear) actuator just kaput [mad]

Hi Siewss,

Apart from your Mz6, is the Verna driven up north as well with 5 people on board? How is the road handling and hill climb with the Verna 1.4M? My accent is getting 'weaker' as it just rolled past 182000km.

The Verna's been driven up north a number of times. Most times to JB, a couple of times to Desaru, and once to KL, always with 5 onboard. Road handling is reasonably good, and rather steady at cruising speed, with none of the floaty feeling that usually plagues lighter vehicles. That said, I seldom venture beyond 130kmh, but when I do, I start feeling the strain on the engine. Though I've not conquered any of the well known highlands in the Verna, but in my guts, I know it shouldn't pose any problem except when overtaking slower vehicle in a hurry when going up the slope.

The mileage now stands at 110k km.

Used to drive an 06 Verna.

My right rear door couldn't lock! Locking mechanism keep going bust.

After a week from getting it (used), I went back to my dealer and he said its rather common for a Verna to have this problem. Not sure how true that is.

the reason is coz komoco had the door mechanism assembled in spore and guess gave the job to the lowest bidder. had the same problem and managed to repair the rear driver door mechanism with a $20 part fm autobacs. the car is low maintenance and a workhorse, onli problem faced was the rear door mechanism, now been 4 years n no problem anymore
