CCTV = Red Light Camera?

Saw many CCTV installed along a couple of roads. Does CCTV does what Red Light Camera does? Do the capture cars which beat "Red Light"?

 

Me happened to beat a "Red Light" which had a CCTV only the road side. No flash coming out of CCTV. Hence, safe?

 

Any exprience to share?

i believe they are generally used to monitor traffic. i personally don't think they would review beating of red lights or speeding on a regular basis.

Yes, referring to those on the lamp post. Happend to have one next a lamp post before the traffic light.

Monitor traffic and in case got accident, can be used as evidence.

They should be able to if they want to, easily. What ponders me is those cams in tunnels, especially KPE. Will those traffic monitoring cams calculate the speed of your car and book you for speeding?

yup...those in KPE whatever sensors or camera inside, will be able to calculate the speed of the car and get the picture of not only the no.plate, but also the driver's face!!

Nope.Those camera were install to catch Mas Salamat when he escape the other time.Before his escape,I seldom see this CCTV,after his escape,this cameras were install.

i once saw before a taxi chiong over the red light got flash light

i also onces saw before a car chiong red light nothing happen....

Not all red light cam has camera inside, TP rotate the cameras so motorists will be wondering if the red light cameras at a particular junction are loaded. Once if a while you can see them bringing down the camera for processing. If you chiong across, you are playing roulette, risking a $200 fine and 12 demerit points. Practice safe driving and approached all traffic junctions, irregardless if camera junction or not with caution.
