that's CRAZY lah! your SE trying to b-------t you ah? When i ordered the car back in Dec, before booking, i was shown the list price of all the items that can be upgraded for.

RCD310 - $400

RCD510 - $1000 (this is the full screen display, with GPS, fitted into GTI).

fog lights - $500

etc.

Bro, you better double with your SE again, it can't possibly be $2200... he/she must have got something wrong.

im being smoked by my SE as well. he quoted me $2,000 for RCD510 and told me there are no accessories shipped over as yet which means NO fog lights upgrade.

is there any lucky soul out there who actually took the option to install foglights??

With $400 can get quite a good after market player and it sound better than the vw.

To me it not worth upgrading the head unit to the VW.

yes she did. When i collected car, she demonstrate all the functions before handing over.

but if you ask me, i think it's a lame feature, dont see how i'll ever use it.

No the foglight is suppose to be installed at the factory when the car is manufactured, nothing to do with accessories being shipped over.

And the price quoted to me before i book was around 500-600, cant really remember exact. i didnt take the option anyway.

400 might be able to get better after-market player. But the 310 comes with extra 2 speakers installed (at the back seats i think), and ipod connectivity.

Plus most importantly, it makes the whole front console more chio :) Like intergrated into the dashboard like that.

say you parked your polo in open carpark under the hot sun. While you are walking to your car, you wind down the windows to let the interior cool down a bit before you reach it.

you need to hold the button for 4-5 seconds before the windows start winding down.

By the time u spot your car, start walking for your remote to be in range for it to work, then press & hold for FIVE whole seconds... i'm sure you'll be just few steps away from it. :D

I really cant think of any practical use for it other than letting thieves access the belongings in your car faster.
