hola my first new topic here on MCF currently considering these 2 (or rather 3) cars but really having difficulty deciding between another. i have test drove only the Lexus GS450H among this, unless including the '08 XF 3.0 v6 petrol. First of all just listing some of my opinions on the cars, LEXUS GS450h (2010) Likes -SUPERB SUPERB Torque and power (254Kw) , Non-stop acceleration until there is not enough numbers on the speedometer -AWESOME handling even at high speeds (+sports suspension works) -The seats are far more comfortable and better feeling than on the Jag XF (maybe cause asian body?) -Easier to use infotaintment system than on the XF -crystal clear Mark levinson sound system dislikes -brand (aka face value) still bit of a setback on this. Some people say lexus for uncle lexus is expensive toyota ..... - interior not as posh as on Jag XF. bit boring la basically -boot space (yes, hybrid batteries... but not that important) Jaguar XF 2.2D /2.0T (2012 facelift) Likes - aircon vents and gear knob elevation ( every jag owner knows (: ) -POSH super luxurious interior, slightly less dated compared to Lexus -ITS A JAG - Diesel efficiency of 1000km full tank (2.2D) dislikes - the infotainment system seems a lot more complicated and difficult to use than on the Lexus - engine specs nowhere near the lexus for both the 2.0 or 2.2 ( lexus really no fight in this segment ) - seats (as mentioned above) - diesel clatter and pumping together with lorries and vans (for 2.2D) - 100hp less but drinks more than lexus (2.0T) anyone owns one of these cars can give an opinion? cheers bros, safe driving :)

I realized my new ride which I'm still running in, even when I gently accelerate, my rpm still seems quite high. Around 2500 - 3000. Is this normal? Any 2010 Mazda 3 owners can comment? I'm driving the 1.6A.

One in nine Singaporean adults aged between 18 to 69 years were obese in 2010, and Singapore’s obesity rate is increasing at about 1 per cent per year, a survey revealed today (Jan 17). Following the findings of the Health Promotion Board’s (HPB) National Health Survey, the One Million KG Challenge was launched by the Health Promotion Board (HPB) today. The One Million KG Challenge is Singapore’s first incentive-based national weight management movement, and aims to motivate Singaporeans to achieve and manage a healthy body weight, and collectively lose one million kilogrammes. Interested organisations and constituencies can pre-register for the challenge in roadshows starting today, in which their employees and residents will be able to sign up for the challenge. The first phase of the challenge is expected to reach some 30,000 local residents. To help participants sustain their healthy weight management efforts, HPB will provide them with a combination of self-monitoring tools, resources and access to programmes. HPB will also leverage online tools and the HPB Health Ambassador Network to increase peer-to-peer networking and support. Participants of the challenge will receive a starter kit and a “pixel” that they could redeem for a prize to kick off their weight management journey. Participants will also receive a “pixel” every month when they weigh-in at any of the Wellness Kiosks around Singapore and when they participate in a variety of activities that help them in monitoring and maintaining their weight. In addition, participants who have persevered in their weight management efforts will get to win top prizes such as a car, a holiday package and shopping vouchers in the Grand Draw to be held in October. The One Million KG Challenge is open to Singapore residents aged between 18 to 64, whose Body Mass Index (BMI) ranges from 18.5 to 37.4. Singapore residents whose BMI fall between 23 and 37.4 could pledge to lose 3kg at one go in the Challenge. For those whose BMI fall in the 18.5 to 22.9 range, they could participate in the challenge to maintain their weight. googled around, couldn't find COE chart before 2007. I made my own using data from LTA website. (note that data after 2002 are 3 month moving average instead of individual bidding) before plotting the chart, i thought it is normal for COE to be around 15k. to my surprise, the less then 20k COE from 2005~2010 seems to be an abnormality rather then a norm. Just for sharing and give a bit of historical perspective view of COE price. please say "thank TS" if you find this useful, it is not a fun job to do the chart :)
